Hi Paul,

first thanks a lot for Your great tool and Your new update !  Smiley

I just have a request : Would it be posssible, to put the speedmarkers automatically to the speedindicator in accordance to Your (very useful!) speedcard at an later update ?
(It's very hard to hit the right numbers via mouseclick  Sad)

Thanks and
   kind Regards

Hi Dietmar,

Thank you for your complement. Not getting much of those this go around  Wink

I took some time last night and wrote some XML to place the speed bugs and it works perfectly!
Although anything above 160 knts wasn't correct because the gauge itself is not a linear display but I can work through that with no problems.

While I'm at it I will also set the Vref speed and 'clean speed' bugs for approach.

Thanks for your suggestion. I'm always up for a challange  Smiley

1-I installed V-One to 737-200 and 730-200ADV, Both planes has no sound for V1+ calls. Embarrassed

2-Are there any Power EPR Settings Charts?

Thanks

Those are in the PDC if you like. If you enter the data needed, it should work out some EPR values for the TO.

Did you open both new windows for Paul's gauge at least once? That's the yellow text string and the speed card. Just asking because that action is needed to initialize the gauge.

1-Yes, both of them on, but no call out.

2- It looks like 737-200 Power output is greater then faactory built engines

Both gauges appear when you select each one from the menu?
Did you confirm functionality of the original V-One Gauge prior to installing this upgrade?

No sounds:
1. Did you install dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau to the C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Gauges folder?
2. Did you place all the sound files in the C:\..\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Sound\V-One folder?

No wonder it doesn't work...this is a Prepar3D installation! The dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau is not compatable.

I'm not sure what you're trying to show with images  Huh

Mystery solved.

Did you apply the changes to the aircraft.cfg? The readme says.
Quote:
Aircraft.cfg file(s) changes:
______________________________________________________________

1. Under the [WEIGHT_AND_BALANCE] section of the aircraft.cfg file(s) (in directories CS_B737-200 AND/OR CS_737-200ADV),
  ensure that the values are as follows:

reference_datum_position     =  0, 0, 0
empty_weight_CG_position     =  -9, 0, 0

(leave this step out when using the FDE mod)
2. Under the [TurbineEngineData] section change static thrust value to:
static_thrust=19000      //23000

Without those edits, you have two and a half engines, so to speak.  Cheesy

actually evan with 19,000lbs its still over powered.. the regular 737 only had ~14,500lbs of thrust and burned about .51-.52lbs of fuel per pound of thrust
the 737-200 advanced version had about 17,400lbs of thrust and im guna guess that same fuel burn rate per thrust..
but you have to remember the regular 737-200 is only rated for 110,000-115,500lbs and the advanced is rated for around 128,000lbs so it would need to extra thrust to make it out of the same airports...

the only engines that can put out more then 17,400lbs of thrust are the JT8D-200 series witch as far as i know there is not record of them being put on a 737-200 witch is a pitty because im sure that a derated one by 1,000lbs to 17,500lbs would be nice for a advanced version with its reduced fuel burn

btw the V-one gage is quite a nice little tool, one thing you might wana add to it though would be checklist page to it maybe for basic opp's

I wouldn't focus on that one thrust value in the sim. This leaves out how e.g. the drag is modelled and how the thrust relates to the (sim) fuel burn. So it's not like you would just enter the rw thrust values and be a happy pilot. Well, unfortunately not.  Undecided

The trick on modelling a good sim flight model is to work around some FSX engine limitations and quirks. By this, the thrust value is one factor in a bunch of.. many. Take the air file for example.
