Missing Panels ???

I just purchased this and installed, and found that I was missing panels..
I have tried to "Repair" the installation & Reinstalled and have the same problem.

In the Virtual cockpit the center pedistal is missing all the radio displays and the labels for the engine fire switches.
The overhead 2D view...
The IRIS and the Pac panel are black panels.
The Animation panel won't open
The Radio panel when it opens is a black rectangle.
The EFIS panel won't open.

I think I've got it all...

I am running the following...
   Windows Vista SP2  64 bit
   AMD Phenom Quad Core 2.2GHz
   6.0 GB RAM
   ATI Raedon HD 4650
   Realtek HD Audio
   FSX Gold W/Acceleration

Did you run as administrator when installing?

Two things to try.

First. Uninstall and then reinstall the 757 (use "Run as administrator") according to KB #685:

Q: How to reinstall a product?

A:
Quite a number of "issues" are caused by using of outdated version of a product. Prior to submitting a support request please make sure you have current version of a product.

To reinstall a product please perform the following steps in exact order:
Uninstall the product:
1. Go to Start> Programs> Captain Sim.
2. Select the product you wish to uninstall.
3. Click uninstall icon.

Install the product:
4. Make sure you have the latest version of the product
5. Run the product installer (the .exe file) and follow the prompts.
Please note: valid Order Number and Internet connection are required for installation/activation.

Please make sure you run the installation file as Administrator and that "User Account Control" is disabled (for Vista and Windows7), it limits admins ability to install programs.

If regular reinstall did not fix your problem you can try to clean registry.
Please be careful and do it on your own risk!

How to clean Registry:
1. Uninstall the product
2. Go to Start> Run. Type: regedit, click OK.
3. Find the product entry in HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\ (please note, for Windows 64bit versions it is HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\CaptainSim\)
For example: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\CaptainSim\C130XPRO
Make sure you are going to delete correct folder!
4. Delete the product entry folder.
5. Restart your computer.
6. Install the product.

If you stil have issues and the above does not help we must admit your system configuration is a rare exception. You can try to install the product on another system or request a refund.

From: General / Download/Installation (QID 685)

If that doesn't fix it. Check-in to Your Profile > Product > Extended Download Service > Get New Links - download the new installer from the new link(s).
Install from the newly downloaded installer (you can use the repair option seeing as you have already activated the product, unless you deactivated it again) to see if that fixes the problem.

Try reinstalling (repairing) SP1 and SP2 (or Acceleration SP2).

Mark,
I cant figure out how to attach an image so i can show you the issues.

I have done some research and have seen this several times but no one has a solution. I tried to reinstall SP 2 but I already have acceleration installed.

You need to have 10 posts or more to add an image. If you have uploaded the image to somewhere like Imageshack or Photobucket, enter the URL in here and I can copy and pate it into a new browser TAB to view it. Wink

Hi Bob.

I have copied the links and posted them in here for you:

This makes it easier for everyone else to see them. Wink

In all honesty, it looks like a combination of two things. (1) The activation didn't take. And/or (2) some of the BMP files have not been installed correctly.

When you did that, did you remove the 757 entry from the windows registry BEFORE reinstalling it (see next image)?

Mark,
I tried the install again and still same problem.

I am going to try something I read on another forum that resolved someone elses issue several years ago.
I will uninstall FSX accelerator and install service pack 2.
From what I have been reading there might be something with the acclereator and Vista,  that could be causing this problem.
We'll give it a shot...

What about just doing a repair of Acceleration? Although I usually run a repair of FSX first, THEN run a repair of Acceleration, when I encounter problems in FSX. This can often sort them out. It will not modify any files that would cause problems with any 3rd part addons - At least it never has for me.
