Big issue!Transparent textures transparent cockpit

Hi there, I read a post about a similar user's issue with 707 but mine problem is a bit different. (sorry can't post link as I'm a new user but it was titled "Please help-Gauges,No Gear,Nothing Working!" on Dec 11th, 2011, 8:15pm)

I did a fresh install of FSX deluxe, followed by Acceleration

I installed Captain Sim 707 (csx701_1300.exe) purchased days ago and chose the Qantas livery. I would love to post pictures of the issue but I am not allowed to link any nor is the uploader able to accept my jpg images  Embarrassed

basically, externally, you see some shadows of the cockpit glass and under the wings but the rest is transparent.  Internally all you see are the black circles and square, that are the place holders for the gauges, and nothing else but runway.

I have a brand new Alienware M14x running Windows 7.  With FSX installed as C:\Microsoft Flight Simulator X\

I did not install any of the service packs manually/separately.  Please help!  Shocked Shocked Shocked Shocked

I think you can post the links to the Topic you refer to and the pictures (if they are in imageshack, photobucket or something similar) you want us to see. They will appear to us as plain text and not as links, which means we would have to copy them and then paste them into a new browser tab or window so we can go to the links.

But to help you out a bit, here is the link to the Topic "Please help-Gauges,No Gear,Nothing Working!" you mentioned. Wink

Glad you got it working. I have had similar type of problem with other aircraft, mostly my "Other devs" aircraft and not on my Captain Sim aircraft.

Only the outer skin is missing when viewing the exterior.

I couldn't see anything at all when in the VC!

I don't really know why it happens. I just assumed the Graphics Card could not cope with the load. I did not want to stop the flight (MEL to HNL) so I continued on and landed (second image).

I had this problem- particularly with the 747 you had shown there MArkoz. I think ti is to do with the RAM.

I used to had this kind of problem with default FA18, other default aircrafts and some of addon with .dds textures. I don't remeber if I reinstalled fsx or I symply turn up "global texture quality" in settings

I having same bug sometimes. Its just DirectX bug. Have nothing to do with sim or planes. In my case, often  it caused by switching windows in FS passengers X. Something not right with overlay in DX i guess.
I got Nvidia GTX470.

I dont think its connected to RAM. In old days with 1 Gb of RAM on Athlon 2800 i had no problems with that. Or it can be connected to videoRAM, not main memory.

Also it all started after ver 285 driver.

Like you, I would think it is a VideoRAM problem/fault and not RAM. Mine happened when I was using 8Gig 1333 DDR3 and a Geforce 1Gig 9800 GTX+.

Well I'm building a new computer, so a GTX 670 will take it.

My new system is already built, less the Graphics Card. I will have to wait just a while longer before I can get the GTX670 for it. Sad
My GTX470 is doing better than I expected though.

With your core though it should do very well. Get a water cooler on that and over clock it and you will perform very well. I got the 670 in case I wanted to play other games too. I think the 660 would do just fine. Up to you. Although I have only ordered the GTX 670, I think it is an impressive sight nonetheless. It is definitely something to brag about.

I need the GTX670 for Far Cry 3 and for GTA V (which I will buy when they are released). At the moment, my GTX470 is fine for Far Cry 2 and GTA IV though. Cheesy

Cool. I might get Prepar3D later when I get my newer HDD. Prepar3d only gets better and better by the looks of it. Which 670 are you going to get. Everyone says the EVGA 670 FTW is the way to go. Like me. But you can't really go wrong with those cards anyway, they're all powerful.
