This XML gauge is for the CS 707-300 and expansions, FSX only.

Now in the Avsim library, search for:
V-One Gauge for B707-300 with Call-Outs

The sounds:
  • 80 knots
  • V1
  • VR
  • V2
  • Gear Up
  • Flaps Up
  • Slats Retract

The gauge will calculate the correct v-speeds for gross weight and provide required trim units.
The v-speeds are adjusted for altitude and temperature.
Optimum FL and EPR are displayed based on current gross weight and are continually updated.
Clean speed (no flaps) is calculated as is Vref40 and Vref50.
Fuel, Gross Weight, OAT and CG are displayed.
KG, LB, °C and °F  can be toggled by a mouse click.
If the current gross weight has exceeded the max gross weight a 'red' warning of overloading is displayed.
The v-speeds will display 'red' when the aircraft's TOW has been exceeded based on altitude & temperature.
Elapsed flight time and fuel used can be reset at anytime by clicking on their displays.

The main gauge is a text display of:
  • Vertical Speed
  • Pitch
  • EPR
  • N1%
  • Fuel Flow
  • TAS
  • TAT

After flap selection, the following will display for Take-Off:
  • Flaps selected
  • Required Trim/Current Trim
  • V1, Vr & V2

Both the main gauge and datacard can be toggled off and on via an icon.

The gauge does not go into the FSX\Gauge folder. Please re-check your installation.

I've never experienced the black squares symptom before. All I can think of right now is to
make sure you've installed the font into the FSX\Font folder.

I've installed it in all my 707 variants. Works! I haven't checked the sounds yet, but since the gauges showed up, it should work. I will try some flights in the next days.

Thanks again.  Smiley

The 'dsd_fsx_xml_sound.gau' does go into the FSX\Gauge folder. I thought you were referring to the 'black squares' issue.

This is from the 727-100 but the same question still applies:

First, check if you can open the gauge as shown below.
If you can't, you must double check your installation again.

Paul, I did a full flight from Auckland to Brisbane and things worked out nicely. I did have the feeling that the rotation at VR came in a bit too soon for the plane, but that's just from one attempt. The sounds worked for the takeoff, but I don't recall hearing something on the gear and flaps when landing.

Thanks CoolP,

I have put in provision to change the CG which in turn changes the feel of rotation. The default 'CgOffSet' value is -1.0, try 0.0 for your next flight (see the readme707.txt file for instructions). This will give a lower trim unit value which results in a slower rotation.

At this time there is no landing sounds implemented...only take-off. Maybe at a later time.

For anyone who would like to install the V-One gauge with FS9:

As stated in the original post, this gauge is for FSX only and is categorized at Avsim as a FSX gauge.

I have not performed any testing with FS9 nor do I wish to support (sorry).

The gauge might work with the V-One main gauge only as it is written in FS9 compatible xml code. It will not work with the sounds, icons or data card. Anyone can try to install the V-One portion of the gauge but I will not be able to trouble shoot any issues you may have.

Explore the unknown if you dare and let us known the results Wink

Thanks, Paul I will try that change on the pitch value. And thanks for clarifying the landing sound case. Edited:
No change needed. Just a better pilot.  Undecided  Shocked

Does it only calculate flaps T/O 14 because i cant get it to calculate them for 25. Is is possible to change a value in the cfg to get it to calculate flaps 25(for those Heavy cargo departures Tongue Shocked )

Flaps 25 would be nice, but I have no access to flap 25 take-off speeds to implement any calculations into the gauge   Sad
