Would it be possible for any future B52 update to include the addition of some empty wing pylons so we can hang weapons from them. Might even be best if they could be selectable fitted / not fitted by a drop down menu or similar.

I would like this too.
Captain Sim could use the Load Control Panel (like the one in X-Load) for loading the weapons.

I was asked by Mario to make an AGM-28 missile (nearly ready for release) and in obtaining some data on the web I got in contact with a group of ex engineers who used to work on them. They supplied me with some excellent drawings of the missile, and asked for some pictures of the completed missile. I have sent them these and the person I have been in contact with has added them to his newsletter. Well, this has recieved some very enthusiastic comments from his group by all accounts and now they are all waiting to get there hands on it (more pottential sales!).
One member of the group did contact me to say it was missing the launch pylon from the B52. So I have explained how it all works - but then thought it would be quite a straight forward(ish) thing to add.
Look forward to see if it is added at some point.

Pete

Wow!!! That looks great!

It would be good to have pylons to place them on. I guess we'll have to hope for them in an update. Wink

The X-15, GAM-77/AGM-28 Hound Dog, Skybolt, AGM-129 ACM, AGM-69 SRAM, AGM-8A SCAD, AGM-86b ALCM, and d-21B Recon Drone were all launched from these pylons.  External bomb racks were also installed on these pylons for dropping 150 pound iron bombs during the Vietnam war.  Enough to keep you programmers busy for awhile?  Pete did a great job on the Hound Dog.  The guys in the Airborne Missile Maintenance Squadron Alumni really appreciate everything he has done to promote our missiles.

One thing to keep in mind though is that the CS model is a G or H model.
X-15, Hounddog, Skybolt were never hung or launched from those model AFAIK. It would require CS to do C or D model long tail versions without the chin bumps and other mods as seen on the later models.

However, having pylons and something to hang from them will be great.

Best Regards,
Marc

For your information the GAM-77/AGM-28 Hound Dog Missile was used on both the B-52G & H models.  I was a missile mechanic on the Hound Dog for both of these models of the B-52.  While the Skybolt Missile never became operational it was also launched from the B-52H model on April 20, 1962 over the Atlantic Missile Test Range.  Each B-52H was supposed to carry four Skybolt Missiles, two on each wing pylon.  The X-15 was much earlier and would have been launched from one of the earlier models of the B-52.
