Does anyone know the exact model type of JT8D engines that were on the prototype MD-80? (N980DC) I looked around but I was unable to locate any information. It would be greatly appreciated if someone could help me out. Thanks!  Smiley

MD-81 had JT8D-209 which were upgraded to -217 on later models.

No problem! I found that the really long MD90's had IAE 2500 powerplants! I didn't know IAE made large engines at all  Shocked
