Engine Whine?

I have been flying this plane for a little while now, and I guess I was wondering if anyone besides me has been hearing what sounds like the engines revving up like they are trying to start even though they are shut down.  I have experienced this before with another company/feelthere's crj.  It really isn't that big of a problem, but it can be a little annoying at times.

Just as a guess I would say its the old fsx problem with the sound.  Try hitting Q (sound off) twice and see if that sorts it.
Other things to try are to make sure your engine start selectors are off.
Do you have traffic turned on?  If so it may be them.
Only guesses but try them out.

Dan.

Hi Christine.

Not sure if this is the same as your problem, but this is what I was getting:
After shutting down the engines on the 737, I hear a whining sound. It sounds like the engines are still running, but VERY quietly.

So after doing some investigating, I found that the TSS-Cockpit.wav, found in FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B737-200\sound folder, is the culprit. After renaming it to TSS-Cockpit.BAK, I no longer get that sound after shutting the 737's engines down.

It's not the gyros being modelled is it?

Try turning off power and see if it's still there.

Thanks for replying.  I will try and rename the file and see if it solves the problem. Fortunately it is only the sound and not the engines actually trying to restart on there own.
