Secret Missions

Hi, the manual says "Two sets of top secret flight missions are included.
One is Tu-95 bombers transatlantic flight, another is U-2 rec mission."  I am sorry to say that I can't find them.  Could you please tell me where they are?  Thank you very much.

Tu-95:

Psst...take a look in the Microsoft Flight Simulator X\Scenery\World\Scenery folder....shhhh.

I know they are BGL files, but you were supposed to notice that the CS BGL files had airport ICAO codes included. There are 12 CS BGL files and two are not listed in the manual:

1. Iraq

Area: Baghdad ORBI, Basrah ORMM (cs_traffic_ORMM-ORBI.bgl)
Aircraft: B-2, B-52, C-130, F-14, MiG-25

2. Yugoslavia

Area: Croatia Cilipi LDDU, Serbia Pristina BKPR, Slovenia Ljbljana LJLJ (cs_traffic_LDDU-LJLJ-BKPR.bgl)
Aircraft: MiG21, F-16, IL-76, B-2, Mi-6, C-130

3. Afganistan

6. Eastern Europe (USSR)
Period: 70-s
Area: Khrablovo Kaliningrad UMKK, Grodno UMMG, Brest UMBB (cs_traffic_UMKK-UMMG-UMBB.bgl)
Aircraft: MiG-21, MiG-25, An-12, Tu-95, Mi-6

7. Middle East
Period: 60-70-s
Area: Lebanon Beirut OLBA, Egypt Port Said HEPS, Israel Jerusalem LLJR, Palestinian Authority Gaza LVGZ (cs_traffic_OLBA-HEPS-LLJR-LVGZ.bgl)

8. Vietnam
Period: 60-s, Vietnam war
Area: Tansonnhat Hochiminh VVTS, Danang VVDN, Noibai Hanoi VVNB (cs_traffic_VVNB-VVTS-VVDN.bgl)
Aircraft: B-52, F-4, MiG-21

9. Korea
Period: 50-s, Korean war

The secret locations:
11. Turkey - Iran - Finland

12. Venezuela - Ukraine

That's great.  Thank you ever so much.  Very clever way of finding them!

The manual said, "Two sets of top secret flight missions are included.
One is Tu-95 bombers transatlantic flight, another is U-2 rec mission."  I went to the locations but I couldn't find the two planes and I don't know how to start doing the secret missions.

As seen in the images in my first reply.

The U-2 is on the ground. That was in Turkey at Balikesir (LTBG). I have not seen them in the air (I haven't even tried), I was just flying around LTBG, and that was already parked there.

The TU-95 was in the air between Charallave (SVCS) in Venezuela and  Kyiv (UKBB) in Ukraine. I 'm pretty sure I took of from SVCS and using the GPS Dierct-To for UKBB. After about 15-20 minutes I started to see them heading towards me. I have not tried to see if they are on the ground at UKBB, but I suspect they are. I don't know if the route they use is to take off from Kyiv, fly to Charallave, then turnaround (without landing) and return to Kyiv.

To see the traffic, this is what the manual says:

To switch off default FSX non-combatant traffic: Options> Settings> Display> Traffic set:
· Airline traffic density 1-3%,
· General aviation traffic density 0%

I have my airline traffic set at 3% (a week or two ago), just to be sure that I can see them all. Most Weapon for FSX AI traffic is visible at 1%.

Thanks for the tips.  I tried all the airports but couldn't spot either of the two planes.  I put the traffic to what the manual says.  I saw your photos - they look great.  Did you do the 2 secret missions?

I wouldn't call them "missions", in the FSX term, but Military AI traffic traveling between two (or three) airports. Once I find them, I shoot them down or strafe them if they are on the ground. Sometimes I try to destroy them as they are taking off or landing. Smiley

The manual said, "Two sets of top secret flight missions are included. One is Tu-95 bombers transatlantic flight, another is U-2 rec mission."  This statement is misleading.  I still haven't even spotted the two planes.

Well they really are there. I don't know why you can't see them. Try the following to see the U-2.

Start FSX, select any aircraft, set the airport to LTBG, set the time of day to 10:45am, then click on FLY NOW. Once FSX is started at LTBG, right click in the middle of the screen and select Air Traffic you should see the U-2 in the list.

I just started FSX, sat on the runway at SVCS and waited (it only took a few minutes). After a while, they appeared. It turns out that the flight plan is UKBB-SVCS (IFR), then they return. The one in the image below, was flying at 13990 feet.

This next one is of the TU-95 coming in to land at SVCS (time of day in FSX - 3 July 2012 12:48pm).

I saw the TU-95 this time!  Grin Many thanks for all your help.  I wish I could fly the TU-95 and the U-2 on secret missions - that's what I was expecting from what they said on the manual.
