Wiki say that: -  In addition to 10% pay cuts, one of the more notable items of contention was that pilots are not provided with toilets aboard the aircraft. Instead of toilets they were required to defecate and urinate in heavy-duty zip-lock baggies.

Is that true? Thats something unbelievable !!!
Is there lav's in 727 freighter? 737, 707s???

All the freighters I flew had normal LAV and FC galley.

As F/E I was also Chef Louis and was a darn good cook at that!  Tongue

I got to know the ground folks in each station and was able to get full filet so I could make a Châteaubriant with Sauce béarnaise for the crew.

Eat your heart out Bruce!  Cool

Chef Lou's way...
Rub with:
Olive oil, anise power, fennel power & a fresh crushed ancho pepper.
Grill at very high heat to make grille marks - 30 to 45 seconds each side.
Move to slow oven and bring internal temperature to 100 to 105F.
Remove to cutting board and cover with foil to rest for 10 minutes.
Since the roast is tapered you will have very rare to medium.
Don't over cook!
Present on clean cutting board and slice at table.
Yum, yum!

wow! I starting to think that flying freighters is more relaxing. With no pax to complain and make noise, and with this food!!! Its just like picnic in the sky!

My freighter flying little less fun. Im  lucky to have lav in my CS707-300C, and no galley. So me and my co-pilot taking thermos with tea, and some burgers Smiley

You could get a hotplate, and a mini fridge. And hope that Chef Louis is aboard! Wink

Lou, I'll take mine looking like the first picture, Thank you very much!!!  Wink

If you are flying a cargo flight that's transporting steaks, vegies and beer (Okay no alcohol!), do you make use of that long flight and (if you have one) the galley???

Oh yeah! I like 'em burnt! Yum. And I love a Fosters with a BBQ.

However, "throw a shrimp on the barbie" is something that got started in the mid 80's when Paul Hogan started staring in US advertisements for the Australian Tourism Commission. Aussies would have said "throw a prawn on the barbie". Before then, I had never heard of anyone doing that (shrimp or prawn) and neither did any of the Aussies I knew back then.  Wink

Speaking of shrimp and BBQ, There is a really good shrimp recipe you guys should give a try sometime.

Get a bag of large raw shrimp, your favorite BBQ sauce, some bacon, basil, and toothpicks.

If the shrimp are uncleaned, clean them, wrap a basil leaf around them, then wrap the bacon around it. Stick the tooth pick through it so everything is nice and snug. Throw them on the grill and brush the barbecue, and cook them until they're pink. Then enjoy!  Smiley

P.S.

Goes great with steak!  Grin
