I am using SP1.7 (FSX) but sadly I get CTD whenever I start entering way points or load co-route in the FMC.

This is unfortunate because didn't have any issues with SP1.6

As a Windows 10, FSX Steam Edition user, does anyone have an issue with the sim freezing when loading a Co. Route (Imported from PFPX)? I did what I should have when I upgraded to 1.7 - Set up a 'FSX...Captain_Sim/Navigation/routes' folder and PFPX route exports are sent to it with a .rt extension.
To ensure that FSX SE was completely up to date, I checked Steam to 'Verify Integrity Of Game Cache', which showed I was missing hundreds of files that were consequently downloaded and installed. To do this, go to Steam/Library, right-click on 'Microsoft Flight Simulator: Steam Edition' on the left column, then Properties/Local Files/Verify Integrity Of Game Cache. I do this once a week now, and keeps everything clean.
So back to the problem. The Flight plan shows up under Co. Routes but clicking on it instantly freezes the sim, and giving ten minutes for everything to load and settle doesn't change anything, so I have to Ctrl/Alt/Del my way out of the situation.

Hi Everyone.
When i bought the Captain Sim 777-200 i found out that the AIRAC code was not up to date so i bought navigraph fmc data and updated it.

When i checked if it had updated it said it had, but when i started a flight it didn't change from before.
Does anyone know how to fix this?

Thanks

Make sure you select to install it in the Flight Simulator version you are using, as it can be installed in Flight Simulator 9, Flight Simulator X, Flight Simulator X - Steam Edition, Lockheed Martin P3D, Lockheed Martin P3D v2, and Lockheed Martin P3D v3. Once installed, go and check to make sure it installed into the FSX\Captain_Sim\navigation, by checking to see if all the files are there (the files should have a created date of 19/05/2016), open and read the cycle_info.txt to see that it says this:

AIRAC cycle    : 1606
Version        : 1
Valid (from/to): 26/MAY/2016 - 22/JUN/2016

NOTE. If you install the AIRAC while FSX is running, AND the CS 777 is being used, then you won't see the updated AIRAC until after you exit FSX, then restart it, then load the CS 777!

Hello, using the newest v1.7 on FSX Steam since the update was released and never had any problems, until now. On 2 consecutive flights it would consistently get a crash to desktop error (MS FSX has encountered an error) about an hour into a 12 hour flight. Same route with the 777-300ER. This is what I found in the events viewer (both CTD had the same report):

Faulting application name: fsx.exe, version: 10.0.62615.0, time stamp: 0x559f9a9a
Faulting module name: Captain_Sim.x777.fms.gau, version: 1.7.0.0, time stamp: 0x56cb7879

I have the same issue with the ctd when loading a companyroute with the .rt ending. When I import a flightplan with the .pln ending everything works fine.

Was the route made using the CS 777 FMC, or the CS 757/CS 767 FMC? As far as I know, the route files (.rt) for the latter are not compatible with the CS 777 FMC, so if you try to load them, it causes a CTD.

The ctd occurs when I open a route exported from pfpx. I created routes in the 777 fmc, no problem in saving them. but when i load them there are no waypoints in the route.
I will reinstall the 777 and report back if the problem still exists

Update: After Reinstall nothing changed. still crash when loading routes exported via pfpx and routes saved from the fmc are empty

PFPX save routes in the older the 757/767 .rt format, so there is the compatibility problem with them for the 777 v1.7.

When I load a route that I saved through the 777 CDU/FMC, all the waypoints are there like they should be.

Thanks for the hint with PFPX.
I found my mistake with the fmc-created routes. I didn't select a SID and STAR. When I select them the route is there with all waypoints. Anyhow I think saving a route with SID/STAR is not so useful.

Regarding my issue with the FMC, the route was inputted manually in the 777 with the route being generated by simbrief. The 777 worked fine for a week after installation before getting CTD again. So reinstalling didn't work and the problem is still there. 3 CTD now at different phases of flight and in different locations.

Maybe there is a conflict between the CS 777 FMC, and something else you have installed in FSX-SE. Undecided

Hi,

It has happened to me three times recently that shortly before/after take off the FMC goes blank and loses all the date I have put in.

Has anyone had a similar issue?

I am starting to think that while configuring the a/c for take off (landing, runway turn off and strobe lights and transponder to TA/RA) amy of these actions may trigger an unknown reaction/bug causing a loss of all the FMC forcing me to either abort take off or restart the flight.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The only reason I can think of for why it would lose all the data that you have entered, would be if there was a loss of power to the aircraft. Undecided
