Please note - systems debug mode has been removed. Feel free to select any livery or aircraft variation, to reload the 777, to select/save another flight.

After installation the airplane displays no landing gear.  Have deleted and reinstalled several times but have the same problem

Any ideas?

This happened to me a few times. I had to exit FSX and then restart it to get them back. It appeared to be happening to me if I either reload the 777 or started a second flight with it (as in End Flight, return to FSX Start Screen, then press Fly Now to start FSX at the same location as the previous flight).

I've just done another reinstall 777-200, rebooted my computer and started a new flight. When I finish, I'll find out if it is still doing it. Wink

I too have seen this problem (once, since installation) but not only here, 1st saw it in the CS B707. I find if I save a setup in the 2D (F10) mode on reload it behaves itself. From my observations the problem comes to the fore if saved in some exterior view modes. Have no idea why and re installs don't appear to help.

Bruce & Mark:

Thanks for the info.  I had tried existing and restarting FSX several times before without luck but this time it worked.

I've got gear (at least for now!!!)

I also had the same issue with the 707 although I think the fix there involved having the correct version of the release and updates installed in order - can't remember (old age  Grin Grin)

Cheers

There are several grammar errors in the evacuation procedures on the yoke...

- Switchs should read Switches

- Advice should read Advise

- Cabine should read Cabin

- Overrude should read Override  Cool

- Occures should read Occurs

It should be Advise. You ask the tower for advice about something or other, but you would advise the tower that you are...for example...ready to taxi. It should also be the same in the USA, as it is in Oz.

All of my Animations are working.

@ paul_smith_gw - The Grd Power Supply, animation only opens the access door for the Ground Power Unit to be plugged in. See ‘777 Captain’ FLIGHT MANUAL Part I – User’s Manual (csx777_manual1.pdf) Page 8 and the attached image from that page. It does NOT put a 3D Ground Power Unit next to the 777 (unfortunately). I wish it did.

I was able to recreate the animation errors as follows:

All flights begin with "777-200 Cleared for takeoff (KSEA)"

Started from cold boot, loaded FSX, landing gear appears, animations work as expected

Changed to BA aircraft, again landing gear appears, animations work as expected

Shut down FSX, and restarted

Landing gear is gone, but animations work as expected

Shut down FSX, and restarted

Landing gear is gone, animations now are not working as described in my earlier post

What happens if you start FSX and at the Start Screen, select the 777-200, select an airport and time of your choice, then press FLY NOW.
Is the landing gear there or still missing?

Even though that goes against the guidance at the beginning of this thread, I tried it out. I got some different results, but I'm not sure that's significant or a known bug.

Bought the aircraft last night and it works pretty decent as far as the exterior goes. The only issue I have found is that the aircraft lights do not seem to respond to the switches in the VC, but do to the "L" command. I'm not sure if the issue has been addressed already, or if I am not doing it correctly.

I have the Saitek Pro Flight Switch panel hardware and it allows me to turn on specific lights. The landing, taxi, and panel (turns on all but dome) lights work perfectly but the beacon and strobe have some issues. They do not work, but when I turn on the nav lights, it turns on the nav lights, beacon, and strobe lights.

VERSION 0.201

NO BEACON LIGHTS
NAVIGATION LIGHTS
LOGO LIGHTS
STROBES
LANDING LIGHTS
WINGS LIGHTS
and TAXI LIGHTS

(also 'ON' or "OFF" indication on lights switches not working)

Flaperon attitude is not correct during take off

Flaperon Bypass Logic

The flaperon bypass logic gets signals from the left and right
engine running status and the position of the left and right thrust
resolver angles. The logic also gets the CAS signal from the
ADIRU and the air/ground signal from the WOW cards.

The logic operates on the ground with at least one engine
running and its thrust resolver angle near the takeoff position.
With the airspeed less than 85 knots, the logic sends a
command signal to all four ACEs to put the flaperon PCUs in
bypass mode. This decreases the flaperon actuator fatigue
cycles caused by the engine exhaust on the flaperons.

At low airspeed with the flaperon PCUs in bypass mode, the
weight of the flaperon may cause the flaperons to move down to
the PCU stops. The exhaust flow of the engines may cause the
flaperons to flutter. As the airspeed increases during takeoff
roll, the airloads may cause the flaperons to float to the neutral
position.

When the airspeed is approximately 100 knots, the logic stops
operation and sends a command signal to the ACEs to put the
flaperon PCUs in the normal mode. The flaperon PCUs then
gradually move the flaperons to the commanded position.

The flaperon bypass logic is inhibited for 30 seconds after an air
to ground transition. This prevents the flaperon PCUs to be in
bypass during touch and go operation of the airplane.
look at this video

take off is @ 3'15

good job so far ...

best regards :p

had it happen last night, pressing G or using my joystick binding wont retract gear but physically  lifting the gear handle does retract them.

are you loading the 777-200 Cleared for takeoff flight right from the get go or are you loading the T7 from the free flight and hitting fly now.?

As I said in the other thread, press and hold G until it retracts and keep a small rock or something on G to keep it from lowering until you need it for landing.

Problem her also...

I tried from EKCH to fly Air India to Delhi

Sorry, but we do not even read any issues that happens outside KSEA default flight.

But I couldnt retract the landing gear.  Shocked The plane was in VNAV and when i retracted the gear, the plane started to initiate speed and climb.
But no animation of the gear retracting.

So gave up the flight.. I mean better have it for mechanical update than spoil it.. Roll Eyes

Anyway with no working ND wonder how I would get there anyway... Huh

All the best, look forward to the next update.. I could fly the plane this time...

Here is the same problem. I can not retract the landing gear.
I begin with "777-200 Cleared for takeoff (KSEA), i press a few times "G" but nothing happens  Sad

I have installed first the 777-200 Exterior Model 0.1, then the update 0.2 and now 0.201.

Starting with the KSEA flight, the landing gear works, but all other control surfaces do not seem to respond.  All hydraulics show as "on".

-No Flaps response
-No trim response
-no rudder response (rudder stuck in hard left travel)
-Both yokes are permanently stuch in full left bank

Pitch and roll axis are very sensitive to the slightest input.

This should be in the systems thread, but anyway, make sure the Hydraulic switches on the upper left hand overhead (They are guarded) on, If they are not you'll see a low press warning on them. Then your flight controls should work. These are separate then the controls on the lower overhead, which of course needs to be on  as well.

The texture around the windows just forward of the aft-most port side passenger door is distorted. Presumably, this is a problem with the exterior model because the CS777_3_T.psd file from the paint kit has no such distortion.

The textures on either side of the seam between CS777_1_T.psd and CS777_2_T.psd on the port side do not line up properly. Presumably, this is a problem with the exterior model because the files from the paint kit seem to be ok.

The American Airlines logo on the port side is distorted, especially the capital "A".

Compare with the starboard side.

The border around the cockpit window is very ragged. A smoother border would be much more appropriate.

1. The term "Stewardess" fell out of use in the 70s and 80s. The correct term now is "Flight Attendant".

2. The animations panel has a curious little bend running straight through the middle.

When I was very young and flew without my parents, so the air Hostesses had to look after me, they had a name for me. I can't say what it was in here because some youngsters might be reading this. Shocked

There numerous locations on the plane's belly where torn seams appear, showing white gaps. These don't show up with light colored paints but they are clearly visible with dark paints. These shots are from the CS British Airways livery.

Can someone confirm on the B777 that only the outboard spoiler sections deploy in flight? Because the inboard sections are staying down.

Inboard and outboard spoilers are deploying for me in v0.5.

Edited:
I noticed that in flight, only the outboard spoilers operate. I think this is the correct way they are supposed to work, or the spoilers might slow the plane down too much.

The exterior lights have issues as well.  I am currently on a flight and in order to get all my lights on I had to hit "L"  which as we know turns every light on.  I only want my nav and beacon going... I hit L again it turns every light off..... I flip the correct switches and the lights dont go on.  I have to either have all the lights on or all the lights off.  Kinda a bummer for those nice screen shots I love taking....

I do the same, except that I use CTRL+L to turn the landing lights off above 10,000 feet and on again when I descend below 10,000 feet. This will be fixed prior to the v1.0 release. Wink

Read this and do as instructed: 100% MUST READ!.

Take special note of the following:
Quote:
Obviously we are well aware of the issue and working on it. But till further notice consider the following as a limitation:
"777-200 Cleared for takeoff (KSEA)" flight ONLY.
DO NOT select another LIVERY or aircraft,
DO NOT reload the 777,
DO NOT select another flight.
I says "till further notice"! Wink

You have to re-download/install them but there were significant changes in the cfg file this update.

For more detailed information check out the section of the forums called
"777 Captain - 0.X- General Discussions"  in there you will see a post called "liveries"  scroll down to the bottom and you will see Markoz made a nice post kinda explaining the change.

Id post the link but I dont have enough posts on here to post links.

The livery scheme for JAL (JA708J) is no longer valid. JAL just recently changed this aircraft to the ONEWORLD scheme.

The blue globe moves forward of Exit 1. The belly is now all white.

JAL changes to ONEWORLD

Japan Airlines is removed.

The red tail now has the Crane image

The Boeing markings move to the rear of Exit #4

These exhaust vents are light-colored, not dark.

The livery scheme for KLM (PH-BQF) is no longer valid. KLM changed this year to the KLM Asia title.

The crown is gone and Asia appears below KLM. The flags are removed. The blue corner marking needs to move behind service door #4.

The crown is gone and Asia appears below the window line. The "Dutchman" text is replaced by Asian text. The Blue corner marking is replicated (and reversed) under service door #2.

This corner marking needs to move in front of Exit #4.

The livery scheme for Singapore (9V-SRI) has some errors.

These markings are placed incorrectly and should be moved to just forward of the service door (or the exit on the opposite side).

This marking is placed too far forward. It should be moved back until Service Door #3 should be bracketed by the R (in STAR) and the A (in ALLIANCE).

This marking is placed too far backward. It should be moved forward until the S (in SINGAPORE) is centered over Service Door #2 and the S (in AIRLINES) is centered over service door #1.

The underwing fairings should have red tips.

The tail marking needs to be re-aligned to look like the real thing.

If it means that the cost will increase, then I will say "NAY!".

Besides, Captain Sim do a brilliant job on their HD textures already. I'm happy very with them.

I completely agree with Mark.

Some may have an affinity for the McPhat. I do not. Take a close look at some of their work. I have seen many examples where the native resolution of their texture files is lower than the resolution Captain Sim uses. On the other hand, McPhat have gained a loyal following - which means (to me, anyway) they are very good at marketing their work.

When you add a subcontractor to the team to do work that has already been accomplished, you are needlessly adding cost to the final product. Understand that Captain Sim is already deep into their project plan. What you suggest is overhauling that plan. If you understand project management, then you know that changing requirements this late in the game can sink the entire project.

You really have to think like a Beta Tester. You are not participating in a requirements analysis - that phase has long been complete. The product is nearing completion and you are trying to spot weaknesses. Simply put, your job is to break it and then report it so the developers can fix it prior to releasing the product. That's what I have been doing with my posts. If you think I'm criticizing the developers, then you have mistaken my messages. Each post is a "bug" report, as I see it. I am going over the exterior textures at high magnification and when I spot anomalies, I report them. Nothing personal or critical, they are completely factual.

So, in my humble opinion, NO to McPhat and YES to Captain Sim. I am opposed to increasing the cost for no increase in quality.

The comments in this post apply to the Air France, British Airways, JAL, KLM and United liveries.

The metallic strip and hot air port should not be included on the starboard side of either engine (port or stbd) nacelle. Otherwise, a faithful reproduction.

While on the ground I get both inboard and outboard to deploy as well. I am referring to when the aircraft is in flight. Mark, next flight deploy the spoilers and tell me what happens.

I already did. It is in the "Edited:" portion of my original reply (and yours and my quotes of that reply). Wink

I like dirt just as much as the next guy, so I would never suggest an exterior texture that's perfectly clean.

In my opinion, the key is to make it as realistic as possible. Otherwise, the effect stands out as artificial.

Here is the issue with regard to the CS B777 wing textures. Notice the wear pattern is exactly the same for both wings. This doesn't happen in the real world.

Actual wing photos. Notice the wear patterns are not identical

In addition, the wear patterns on the CS B777 wings are exceedingly bold. They appear to have been done in a hurry. This makes them seem very unrealistic.

Here are actual photos of wear patterns on either wing. I suggest using any of these in the CS B777 textures.

Thanks, Garrett

Good post, Garrett. I noticed the symmetrical wear textures on my first flight. They are painfully unrealistic.

This will be fixed in future textures when enough people start flying the plane and creating their own textures.

Hi Everyone,

I have the same issue of landing gear not retracting after take off.  I tried to press the G button on the keyboard and nothing happens.

Mark, I tried your instructions to the key and still have the same issue. I am not sure what some one was mentioning about the Switches to be ON behind the first officer, please help me to find this. As for a fix, I am not sure what else to try. If anyone can help, that will be great.

Thank you in advance,  Smiley

A problem I've been having is that the engine fan textures disappear on the 777 using any livery except for the American Airlines and Korean Airlines stock liveries. Has anyone else experienced this?

Reinstalling of the 777 does not fix it. Any ideas?

I have found that the aircraft lights were not too well done yet. The taxi and landing lights are a bit off unless you zoom out alot. The white NAV lights are very noticeable but the red and green NAV lights are very hard to make out, especially in the daytime. As for strobe lights, I notice that they are flashing from INSIDE the wing  Shocked If its just me is there any suggestions on possible fixes? Thanks.

I always thought it was weird the way the second tab on the rudder turned the opposite way to the main part of the rudder. Then I looked up info on the T7 rudder and found out that the rudder animation on my CS777 is wrong, is everybody else's rudder wrong too, or is it just mine?

I'm probably just being picky here, but the PW4090 engine spinner cone texture looks very unrealistic, especially when the engine is on. Here are pictures for comparison Smiley

Here are some issues with the Korean Air livery.

TAIL MARKINGS

Compare these two images and notice the distinct differences.

Captain Sim tail portside

Actual photo of HL 7526 tail portside

Captain Sim tail stbdside

Actual photo of HL 7526 tail stbdside

Flag on tail is:
     (1) too large
     (2) misplaced (should be higher)
     (3) inverted on the starboard side

Registration code on tail is:
     (1) too large
     (2) misplaced (should be lower)
     (3) wrong font - either of these alternatives is close to the real thing

Taegeukgi logo on tail is:
     (1) misplaced (should be lower)
     (2) inverted on the starboard side

FUSELAGE MARKINGS

Korean Air fuselage logo is:
     (1) offset where the horizontal fuse seams meet on the port side

     (2) offset where the vertical fuse seams meet on the port side

     (3) showing color bleed along inside vertical of the stbdside "E"

     (4) is missing the light-colored circle around the Taegeukgi logo (port and starboard)

ENGINE MARKINGS

The Taegeukgi logo on the engines is not "crisp" and has color bleeds.

Gotcha! The lower section turns further than the upper section in real life, but not on the CS 777!

After seeing the picture of the real one, you post makes perfect sense. Embarrassed

Moe Works,

If you think I'm criticizing the developers, then you have mistaken my messages.

This product is still in testing phase, as I see it. I am trying to spot weaknesses and then report them so the developers can make fixes prior to releasing the product. That's what I have been doing with my posts. Each post is a "bug" report, as I see it. I am going over the exterior textures at high magnification and when I spot anomalies, I report them. Nothing personal or critical, not opinions, they are completely factual.

When Captain Sim releases the final product, there will be numerous reviews put out on Mutley's, Avsim, YouTube, Fsdeveloper, Simviation, etc. They can be highly critical (picky, as you say) and sometimes will bring out a product's tiniest flaws. I would rather see Captain Sim get an A+ review than get a lower grade because the liveries don't look exactly like the real thing.

By the way, Captain Sim tells me the developers are checking these posts and making corrections.

I respectfully disagree.

Check on airliners.net by searching for "G-VIIT". This is the actual registration code used for the British Airways CS B777.

You will see that prior to March, 2011 the nose was indeed white.

However, since that time . . . they changed it to a gorgeous cherry red.

I love your photo showing the vapors - very, very nice. However, that is a completely different aircraft, registration G-STBF, plus it's a 777-300, not a 777-200.

My aplogies sir... I didn't know that CS was basing it off of a specific aircraft!  Embarrassed If that's the case then you are definitely correct! I thought that CS was using the liveries of a majority of the BA fleet... I didn't even think to look up the tail number!

And yes the picture was a 777-300, but like I said... I just wanted to share the picture  Wink

I'm going to back up the BA livery that comes with the current 777 version so I can keep it in case they change the nose. Real or not, that red nose looks horrible. Sad

Unbelievable - that is just too funny. Comic Relief's Red Nose Day wasn't even something I knew existed until now.

Wait - if it's only for a day then . . . . hmmmmm.

Ok, white nose.

Hello Together,

Captainsim I wanted to thank you for all the effort you guys are putting into this Boeing 777.

I though still have some issues with it. All Light switches  still do not work.
The United Aircraft for some reason on departure does not retract its gear. I have to continues hold the G button on my keyboard to retract the gear.

The Navigation display does not show the data as suppose to unless it has still not been fixed.
Also it seems to kill my frames once in VC mode.

My computer is a Gateway DX4860-UR10P (PT.GCPP2.017) Desktop PC Intel Core i5 2320(3.00GHz) 6GB DDR3 2TB HDD Capacity Intel HD Graphics 2000 Windows 7 Home Premium 64-Bit with a Nvidia 520 GTS graphics card.

How about some clown shoes as farings on the landing gear mains to go with the clown nose?  The attachment expresses my sentiment about clown liveries...sorry to be a grouch.

But hey - in my own defense . . . it's just a little Brit humor!

Can't you just see Benny Hill sitting in the copilots seat?

I'm not hard over on red noses (or clown shoes). My only purpose in posting these texture issues is to nudge the product towards perfection. As a humble Captain Sim fan, I would not expect unanimous agreement with every post. Just hoping to play a small part.

In reality, I should have looked more closely at the airliners.net postings, where the photographer explains why the nose is red. Since it's not part of the standard British Airways livery, it really shouldn't be part of the Captain Sim livery.

Keep the comments coming. It's good to know how others view these posts.

Thanks, Garrett

Pointing out small texture problems/details is fine by me. Even more so if Captain Sim fixes them. Wink

Load up at your departure airport in your default flight then select the triple 7, doing it this way allows the gear to go up.

Sorry, that still does not work for me.  Same issue as Delta.

Doing what you suggest actually disables the ability of the hydraulic switches to work,  So when you have to contort, stand on your head, reach way back to turn on the switches, you are rewarded with no joy. Sad

yes when i start my flight loading the C172 at my chosen airport then switching to 777 the HYD switches are off but going to the FO seat and turning them on, starting APU power and continuing preflight y gear raises but the RAT deploys is my only issue.

Tried that, still with no results.

I guess I could try visiting the 1st class lav, operating the light switch, THEN taking the pilot's seat, switching places with the FO, THEN contorting, standing on my head......

All this to even get it running.  This bird ain't no eagle, its a turkey!

I mean, seriously???   Roll Eyes

I saw something really interesting on my last flight. The RAT deployed, then stowed itself (this was during the the takeoff roll), then deployed again just as the 777 left the ground.

Did you check for any stowaways during your pre flight inspection? Wind down there during takeoff is pretty strong, maybe they wanted to get cozy.  Wink

Thanks for posting the source liveries. Personally I appreciate what growley803 and others have pointed out. Some of these differences are very minor but some are more obvious for someone intimately familiar with the liveries.

Personally, I would like CS to spend more time with the VC systems than with correcting minor flaws in the liveries. With a good paintkit, those can be fixed by other users who know how to paint.

I would like to know what FLARS are though  Smiley

Is there ANY chance of making the NAV lights, strobe lights and beacon lights more brighter? In daytime, I can barely see my strobe lights or NAV lights.

Rat still deploying and no matter which A/C from the Boeing 777 I upload my FSX crashes almost every time... Any advice?

The RAT is deploying every time for me, but I'm not have FSX crash on me. What are your computer specs? High, medium or low end?

Do I understand correctly that there is currently no solution that extends the RAT not? For me it runs out at the start and the switch on the overhead lights always "unlkd".

I think that somewhere in this forum someone came up with a fix, it was about reinstalling from 0.5 and then 0.9 and then you start fsx with the default c172, and choose the 777 after you are at the gate. I have not tried it yet so I don't know if it works or not.

I think I have tried every method that has been put forward to prevent the RAT from deploying during takeoff and none of them work for me.
I have only had one flight where it didn't deploy and I still have no idea why or what I did to prevent it. Sad

Agree with above! I only had one flight that the RAT do not deploy. Other than that, I really like this AC. had it since .2, and it has come a long way!

Well as stated in the past I have only had one takeoff where the RAT DID deploy and I forced it to by playing with it's associated tags. I also had NO earlier UC problems as well so I have no idea what I'm doing differently other than I have NEVER used the "compulsory" KSEA ready for takeoff flight plan (as stated my system hates that location).

Somewhere in all this mess I actually posted screen shots of a start up and take off from cold and dark, about 3 months ago, showing zero problems.

Anyone detected that the main gear for the B777LR is wrong.
The main gear for the LR is different from the standard B777. It doesn't have that front hydraulic cabling support in front of main strut.
I hope the B777-300ER will show the correct main gear which it has additional support shock behind the struts and nothing in front.

yes i agree and also some of those lights are a bit off the position they should be.  I also noticed that there is nothing showing when runway turnoff lights are on

Hi Roberto.

You must install SP2, or Acceleration, for FSX. It is a Minimum System Requirement for the Captain Sim 777!

Cancel that last comment of mine. It works now  Grin

I've noticed when installing a CS777 update for the first time that it is good to load the plane, then restart FSX. This helps with initializing the systems.

I strongly recommend this:

Uninstall the 777 v0.8/0.9
Reboot your computer
Install the 777 v1.0
Reboot your computer.

That fixed up a lot of strange things that happened the first time I started FSX after installing v1.0 without using the above method.

I realize I'm probably about a year late in posting this but the included United livery doesn't look quite right. The writing of "UNITED" does not look the same as the real thing. There is a repaint for the 777-200ER PW for United that looks much more realistic

The wings are part of the exterior, correct? So this post shouldnt be taken down by CS...I hope.

Anyways, I have had this issue that no one else seems to have noticed or care about which is strange for aviation buffs (like me Smiley

The wings are too thick and thus making the flap 5 position look non-existant. Is there not atleast ONE person who is a member of this forum that agrees? I asked friends and family showing them both my screenshots of my CS 777 and RL 777 pictures and they too agree. Is there a reason for the front of the wings (leading edge) being rounder than the RL counterpart?

I believe this is the right place to post this,
But it seems like the Exit Coordinates for the B777-300/ER expansion pack are off. The Jetway doesn't line up anywhere near the plane.
