I think if they did this it would take away from the realism that they are trying to achieve.

Yes there is no gps because its unrealistic to have on this kind of commercial airliner. Either add it yourself or learn to fly properly.

It is easy to add to the 2d panel. Check the forum here for ideas. Wink

Don't worry John Max. If, when the 777 Base Pack comes out, it does not have a GPS (which I doubt that it will), It will be one of the first things I add to it. I use the GPS to get the ILS, VOR, NDB, ATIS, Tower, Ground frequencies while in flight. It beats going to the map to get it during a flight. I use it as a map so I can see where, in the world, I am during a flight.

If others don't want to do it, that's perfectly fine. We all do things our own way to get our enjoyment out of FSX. Wink

Try Map! from Feelthere.  It works with any aircraft.

I already have Map and it's a nice addition to have in an airliner, but it does not provide the info on the destination airport (like I mentioned previously). Wink

You ask in the question 777 Captain wish list, yet you say CS700-200. Can I safely assume you mean the CS777-200?

Okay. I'll try to help you. Wink

I am assuming this question IS for the CS777-200. The CS777-200 has the GPS included. Open the 2D Simicon Panel (SHIFT+2), and it is the icon on the 3rd row from the top, 3rd icon from the left (it looks like a globe).

To follow a GPS route/flight plan, then you create it in the default FS Flight Planner, save it, then load it into the CDU/FMC by going to the ROUTE page, click on LSK3L (Line Select Key 3 Left) next to <SEND, then click on LSK6R (Line Select Key 6 Right) next to FLTSIM FPLS>, and then you will have access to every FS Flight Plan that is saved in the (My) Documents\Flight Simulator X Files folder (use the PREV PAGE, NEXT PAGEbuttons to move through all the pages of flight plans until you find the one you want, the click on the LSK beside it. It will load into the CDU/FMS, and the 777 will follow the route. It is actually more complex than that, as you really need to complete the programming of the CDU/FMS so that the 777 can use VNAV (Vertical NAVigation), and LNAV (Lateral NAVigation), with LNAV being the one that follows the route.

If you want to see the route in the GPS, then you need to load it in the normal way: Menu > Flights > click on the Load... button > find the route you want > click on OPEN to load it into the FS Flight Planner > click on the FS Flight Planner OK button. The route is now visible in the GPS. The Captain Sim 777-200 is a complex aircraft for FSX, and without loading the route into the CDU/FMC, as mentioned above, the 777 WILL NOT follow the route!

NOTE. If you do not mean the 777-200, then all of that is irrelevant, and I will give you new instruction if it's needed for a different aircraft.

The 777 does not work the way you want it to. It is a complex aircraft for FSX/P3D, and you are meant to program all the information into the CDU. This includes the Departure (SID) and Arrival (STAR/TRANS), and the 777 will track the route all the way to the arrival runway.
I'm sorry, but there is no NAV/GPS button to press to get the 777 to follow an approach you add using the GPS.
