Weapons for FSX does not seem to work on the Realair Spitfire although the Spitfire is shown as "armed" in FSX Sim objects.

I'll take a look at it. I put it in the older WOP2 Spitfire, and love it, but not in the WOP3 Spitfire with Accu-Sim. Do you have Accu-Sim too? It could make a difference in testing it. Wink

A2A have some "Windows" that the Weapon for FSX might have "upset". If you get my meaning.

I had a lot of trouble trying to get it working, I messed it up and had to restart my attempt from scratch. Not working yet and I stopped working on it for a while. I'll try it again. I'm think I might be able to get it to work, but I won't guarantee it. Wink

I have the A2A WoP3 Spitfire with Accu-Sim almost done. It wasn't all that hard. I was having some bad pain back when I first replied to you post, so I guess I could not concentrate properly (or for long periods) on it. I did this last night (Aussie time) and tested it quite a bit and it works. One major difference is that I removed all the weapons, except the SSPU-30 and the Hydra 70. I chose them because they are. in my opinion, more suited to the era of the Spitfire. I just need to align the gins to the gun ports on the wings and it will be done.

I shall upload it to the Captain Sim mods (Free Liveries) for Weapon for FSX. I shall have provide instructions with it. I'll let you know once it is uploaded and approved.

Mark

EDIT May 21st, 2012 at 10:34pm: I uploaded the mod to Captain Sim a while ago. It'll be available once it gets approved. I also chose to add an extra gun in the modded CSWeapon.xml. It comes with 4 x M60C 7.62mm machine guns, 2 x GSh-30-1 30mm cannons and 4 x 30 (120) Hydra 70 rockets. There is a choice of unlimited ammo, or normal. I also included the CSWeapon.xml that the Loader puts there with the choice of unlimited ammo or normal. The ReadMe!.txt has all the info and instructions in it.

Thanks Colin.

Just so you know, it isn't back pain. I suffer from severe chronic pain due to a motorbike accident in 1982. As for the cold. I prefer the cold to the  heat. The pain causes me to sweat profusely in cold weather, so imagine what it get's like in the Summer heat. Grin

Edited:
It's available now under Weapon for FSX Free Liveries

I hope you like it.

"It's available now under Weapon for FSX Free Liveries"

I do not own "weapon for fsx" yet. Guess I need to purchase it to download what you are talking about above

"I have the A2A WoP3 Spitfire with Accu-Sim almost done" I own it too and the wop3 P51 + Accusim as well, and I'd like to use those warbirds as warbirds...

Pardon my question but what do you offer with what you've done for the A2A WoP3 Spitfire ? something that works with weapon for fsx for sure but what else specific to the wop3 Spit ?

Merci

All that I have done is modified the panel.cfg, that Weapon for FSX created for the WoP3 Spitfire but does not work. I have also modified the CSWeapon.xml so that the guns and rockets are align with the gun positions on the wings AND so that they fire towards the centre of the gun site.

I have included 4 CSWeapon.xml files. Two are aligned with the wing guns and only have machine guns and rockets with one set to unlimited ammo.
The other two use all the available weapons, that are installed with Weapon for FSX v1.0. They are NOT aligned with the gun positions, and one is set to unlimited ammo.

One more question Mark about your WoP3 Spitfire mod :

is the panel.csweapon.cfg file located in the panel.csweapon folder used somewhere in your mod ?

in other words should I keep it or not ?

The panel.cfg goes in the panel.csweapon folder, the CSWeapon.xml file goes in the WoP3_Spitfire folder. So yes. You should keep it.

Hi and thanks Mark,

... but I was talking about the panel.csweapon.cfg (not the panel.cfg). Both of them are located in the panel.csweapon folder of your mod

does it matter to keep (or not) the panel.csweapon.cfg ?

That is the original panel.cfg created by the Weapon for FSX "Loader". It is not needed, so it is up to you if you place it in the panel.csweapon folder or not. If you are interested to see how I changed it from that to the one that gets used in the Spitfire, it would be worth putting in the folder so you can see how it is done. You could use it as a guide for doing the Razorback. Wink
