Kiwis some models come with a saved plan or flight which is in the flight planner section of FSX. You just go to the load a plan menu in FSX and check the list of saved flights. Load the plan say 727 cold n dark at KXXX, then relocate it using FSX to where you want to go to start.

Second option is to select the model you intend to fly, when it loads relocate it to your desired start up position/place then shut the aeroplane down, turning of the engines and all relevant systems no longer required, switch to external power, or apu or shut the whole thing down including battery. Then save the flight as the Cold n Dark of your choice. Simple.

Cheers and have fun

Make yourself a 'Safe start up for complex aircraft'. Start FS go to free flight and 1. select the standard Cessna 172.  2. Select a small unenhanced airport. 3. Open it then ensure that you are on the ground. 4. Turn everything off except 'Avionics'. Save the flight with the name 'Complex Start up' . Go to saved flights and make this your start up scenario when ever you open FS free flight. You can now load any complex aircraft that you have with safety.

Most Captain Sim products come with a Cold-n-Dark flight installed into your Documents\Flight Simulator X files folder (My Documents\Flight Simulator X files folder for WinXP). For example: 757-200 Cold-n-dark (KSEA).  So you can always load one of those  flights, then move the aircraft to the airport of your choice.

I hope that one day CS will offer us the possibilities to set the aircraft in Cold/Dark with the ACE program or via a Sim-Panel like the SHIFT + 2 with somes new options regarding the aircraft state.

All our recently released aircraft have two saved flights - Cold&Dark and Cleared for Takeoff. Just use the FSX Menu.

I have the latest update to 777 but do not have a cold and dark flight.  How do I get the flight?

Thanks

I just bought the 777 for P3D and I only have two flights: passenger cabin and Ready for Take-Off, no "Cold & Dark" flight. Any hints?

The 777 Captain, and 1011 Captain don't have a "cold and dark" FLT, but seeing as I always start FSX using the default C172 in a cold and dark setting, all my Captain Sim addon aircraft for FSX, load into FSX in a cold and dark state too.
Although the Cold-n-dark flights are available for most CS aircraft, I rarely ever use them for that reason.
