Pushback and more for all planes, at all airports

The folks from FS Dreamteam just released their new GSX ground handling software. The CS 767 is supported out of the box, but I think adding to that list can easily be achieved. http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1328094866/0#0

Looks pretty nice on the videos and there's a free trial available too.

Just found out that FSDT are now supporting all B 727 models.

Right you are. Seems like new ones get added rather fast. Nice progress.  Smiley

What default FSX airprots support the demo. I don't have any FSDT airports and so I don't see anything at any airports that I have tried so far. Sad

Good question, Mark. That's LIML (Milano), KSFO from Flightbeam and EDDM (default and another company).

Shame on you!  Tongue What about Hawaii? They have some (2+2) smaller ones and PHNL to offer. No, I don't get money from them, but I like their stuff.  Smiley My 707 visits Geneva from time to time. And KLAX is just plain amazing. Oh, that Flightbeam KSFO is a tip. So you come from Oz, go PHNL and then West Coast, huh?

You are not going to believe this. I had downloaded the wrong file. I went to the EDDM and nothing worked. I kept getting an error. So I went back to the site and found the correct file to download. I tried it. I love it. I gotta have it. Grin Grin

I tried using this with GA aircraft. It gives you a Follow Me car, a Marshall for parking, a bus and a baggage cart with a single trolly behind it for the baggage.

GSX just keeps getting better! It works quite well with the CS 737-100/200 even though it isn't supported. They update it to support the Captain Sim 707-300 today (10-02-2012). Nice! Grin

Great news indeed! Most important plane now supported.  Cool

And there's 1.1 of the GSX app available, which means some more parking flexibility and stuff. Go get it, if the update feature hasn't already reminded you about it.

For the variants which aren't supported yet, one may be able to help GSX a bit. Read some more here. Should work. http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1328094866/13#13

I would like to try again download GSX demo, but I am hesitating if GTX makes some changes in FSX cfg.file and hits the FPS. MY first experience was not good. I wasn't able activate any of GTX activates. Embarrassed

Well, you can backup your fsx.cfg of course. But I couldn't see any changes from GSX. It should not affect fps at all, at least I can't see any impact so far.

Make sure to really load the installer for GSX, not the separate addon manager. Then GSX should work on the airports mentioned above and on all FSDT ones.

I'm sure I saw that GSX does change some files in FSX. One that I can think of is the pushback cart. I don't recall it changing my fsx.cfg though. I also find that it doesn't have that much of a hit on my frame rates, which I'm surprised about when you consider all those things that suddenly appear when you press CTRL+F12 and calling for deboarding, which to bring the into the scene. I was getting 24 -26 FPS with the CS707-300 at the default YMML airport both before AND after bring the GSX items into the scene. About every five seconds, it would drop to about 14 FPS but immediately return to 24-26 FPS (only stays on 14 FPS for about one second).

Oh and it must change the fsx.cfg because GSX must be added to your list of "trusted" gauges. Not sure of anything more than that. But as CoolP says, you can backup the fsx.cfg before installing it. Wink

I haven't found any FPS hit with GSX. To test it I parked my B767-300 at gate D22 FSDT KJFK. I did turn down the airport traffic as I noticed that GSX trucks would drive through the default FSX trucks. I am pushing 11.0 frames without a high end graphics card. (NVIDA 280) with liquid cooled processor quad core I think. The only drop in frames was entering the runway for departure. BTW I did notice that GSX runs better with Preview Direct X activated.

Right you are. But, to be precise, that's FSX itself changing the fsx.cfg there.  Tongue  Cheesy

OK. I stand corrected. Wink
