EFIS displays not working

Hi all,

I am about to purchase the 757 and i downloaded the demo to try it out first.
I have installed the aircraft and when i load it everything works but the EFIS displays. I get a black screen instead of the working displays.
I made my research and updated FSUIPC. Also checked i have SP1 and SP2 in my FSX.
nothing worked yet.

I dont seem to find this topic on the forum. Has anybody idea of what i need to do?

thanks,
Dan

Sorry to hear that she isn't working, Dan.
Your description looks like a protection issue. If you had the demo installed first, make sure to uninstall it. Then (re)install the plane following these steps and really mind the correct code no extra blanks and stuff. http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1322008495/34#34

If it still fails to show all displays, please report back. Your dll.xml may be worth a look then.

Is this the demo that isn't displaying the EFIS? Or is it the 757-200 Base Pack?
If it is the demo, then as far as I know, not all the instruments are included in it. My guess is that the EFIS isn't included.

Please note, the following features are not included in the Free Demo:
• Extensive Systems Programming (ADI, HSI, EICAS displays inop)
• Flight Management System (CDU inop)
• Realistic Flight Model (flight controls locked in the Demo)
• Custom system sounds and crew voice messages
• Authentic Sound Set - PW and RR engines (alias to default 737 sounds in the Demo)
• Collins WXR-2100 Weather Radar
• Aeronautical Data including Terminal Procedures
• Repaint Kit

If it is the Base Pack that is having the problem, then the Demo version must be uninstalled before installing the Base Pack. It can't be installed over the top of the demo version.

When you done using the Free Demo just click:
Start > Programs > Captain Sim > 757 Captain DEMO > Uninstall
The Free Demo must be uninstalled prior to any 757 Captain product installation!

Guys, thanks for your answers.

Yes, the version i am trying is the DEMO. So, as pointed out by Markoz, this should be by design.

I will purchase base pack tomorow, try it and report back to the forum.

thanks again both of you!!  Smiley

Ah, that demo thing clears it up. I've misinterpreted your initial post then. Apologies.
