Convoluted Flight plan at arrival

Whenever I select the STAR and approach on the DEP/ARR page, I always find that the route takes me into the airport and then back out again for the approach. I would assume that in the real world, ATC would vector you to the approach, but seeing as I'm not using ATC, what should I do? Should I just delete the waypoints that inconvenience me (including those that say "[VECTORS]")? What's particularly interesting is that this doesn't happen on another addon by a different company--the route seems to right itself.

Thanks,

If I'm using a STAR/TRANS that takes me to a VOR at the arrival airport, I remove it from the flight plan. As you know, I rarely use FSX ATC, so I am doing it "my way"!  Wink

Example: Arrival at SYD (YSSY) runway 34L.

Rwy ILS34L RIVET9/SY. The STAR & TRANS part of the route looks like this:

RIVET
TAMMI
BOOGI
DODUK
NASHO
(VECTORS)
SY
SY/14
(INTC)
SY/16

SOSIJ
SY07
RW34L

I remove the red waypoints from the plan. VECTORS takes me on a heading of 155o, which I follow for about 2 or 3 minutes, before I turn to a heading of about 0o - 10o until I capture the ILS (just prior to SOSIJ).

Thanks, Mark. Just wanted to know if everybody was doing something else or not.
