I have heard that AA doesn't work in DX10 Preview mode. Is that true? If so, then it's a no go area for me.

Hi vans.

I get nearly the same performance with Preview DirectX 10 on or off (down about 1-2 FPS if it's on) and seeing as I fly quite a few 3rd party add-on aircraft that are not DX10 capable I find it is better to leave it off.
Other than that, I agree with you that Preview DirectX 10 is very nice.

Hi Vans

I am with MarkOz on this one, a lot of the graphic files I have won't work with DX10 preview selected and the payware scenery-weather I use recommend it be turned off. If selected it will play havoc with other stuff which is a pity as DX10 has a lot going for it, the major issue like everything FSX is it is mostly a lot of stuff ported over from earlier sim versions and a lot of the conversions of files are so so especially with the older xml coding processes.

I liked the VGA shading you get, i find I get the same improvement by switching from a framed bounded display to full screen which changes colours and shading remarkably, however, it also has windows display issues switching about and sometimes FSX loses track of it all and then, you guessed it, crashes.

There is a nice little piece of software called Addon Converter X which makes almost all non-native FSX addon aircraft textures work in DX 10.
It's not free, $19.95 US, but if you like DX10, as I do, worth it.

Hi Chris.

Sorry about that. I thought the pics were a comparison between DX10 and ENB. Shocked
