Unlike the real plane where you can change the pitch using the condition levers when you pull them on CS C-130X they shut the engines off.  Remember this model is based on an C-130E variant from the mid to late 60's even though it has the H and J model graphics externally they do not respond and or work the same.

I'm sorry Don but thats not even remotely correct.  I can't speak for the J model but since it is based on the T-56 I'm sure it runs the same way. 
Once the engines are out of Low Speed Ground idle (its just a button thats even simulated on CS C-130) the engine runs at 100%, that even means the prop (1020RPM).  There is so changing them at all.  The Condition is basically a set of 4 switches...sure there is a mechanical linkage to the engine thru them but they perform the same function.  The switches do 4 things. I'll simplify some of their functions.

1. Air Start (Activates the Aux pump allowing the propeller to unfeather)
2. Run (Basically just sets up the engine to run)
3. Ground Stop (Shuts down the engine)
4. Feather (I think you can figure that one out)

Its different from other turboprops that allows you to control some of N1 thru the condition lever.  So what you were probably doing was trying to control prop RPM thru it.  Moved the Condition lever out of Run and went thru the Ground Stop micro switch.  Thats exactly what would have happened in the real aircraft...plus some other bad juju  Wink

As far as the props changing rpm when you move the condition lever even the slightest is just Microsofts faulty modeling of turbo props nothing more. 

The engines between the C-130 E (T56-A-7) and the H (T56-A-15) differer mainly in Turbine section and nothing more.  They funciton almost the same.
I hope that all made sense Nick if not I can run it down a bit more.  Big thing to take away from it, no touchy in flight unless you need to feather or air start  Grin

Thank you for that info Brian.

I had the same problem with those levers since I bought it. The main difference being that I had noticed that the prop RPM never changed and so I stopped using them. Since about my third or fourth flight, I have only used the Throttle levers.
Thanks to your info, I now know that they are supposed to operate that way. Smiley

Thanks AKC, I didn't get overly technical since this FSX version only looks like the real plane and not very close at that but close enough to get the idea.   I set up a spare CH Throttle quadrant for my condition levers only to shut down my engines eaiser.   The J model doesn't have condition levers it has only a throttle quadrant and uses resolvers for electrical circuits to the FADEC's and the Nacelle Interface Unit to control the Engines.

I would really like to see CS update this whole flightdeck with something more realistic to a H2 or H3 variant and maybe a J but people in hell want ice water too I guess so not holding my breathe on that one.

No problem guys, the herks my favorite aircraft love everything about it!
I got so frustrated with the CS C-130 not having an actual INS that I took the Alphasim C-130 and ripped out all the avionics in it.  And created an entire flight deck from scratch.  Started to learn to code XML even to create my own EICAS and a Digital Radio Panel.  I would have loved to do it on the CS C-130 but theres so much non-functioning 3D imagery on the VC that makes in impossible.
See where you've driven me to CS for not finishing this!!!!  Grin
Anways it was kinda fun to figure that stuff out, I wish I had time to actually finish my second EICAS (Integrated MACAWS).  So time consuming.

Thats cool..  I was able to modify my ex2-c133 panel to change out some of the instruments for more updated ones. Probably not baseline but only two instruments I am having issue with was the ADI and HSI I can put an EADI and EHSI in there but there is a black shadow that covers the outter portions I can not get rid of.   But I have added the ISG GNSXLS FMS, MCU and replaced the TCAS Screen with the EHSI.

Drift Angle gauge that doesn't really work, may replace that
Replaced TCAS with ISG EHSI (TCAS, Nav mode and HSI Mode)
Replaced Flap indicator
Replaced Co-Pilots instruments same as Pilots
