First flight, some questions

Had a chance to fly the 200 today, KMIA - KATL, classic Pan Am flight.  A few questions.

1) I am really having trouble with the A/P pitch settings.  No issue on how to work it, just having trouble with the adjustments to increase and decrease the pitch.  When I click on the decrease side of the wheel the pitch increases?  I ended up disconnecting Elevator and manually set the pitch.
btw, does the FSUIPC increase/decrease pitch work?  Would be nice to set up a button on my throttle quad to adjust the pitch.  I have had success with this on the ConcordeX.

2) I used the old Dream_fleet 727 tutorial to go through this flight, notice there is no cruise alt and landing atl settings....I assume this is correct and just a different 727 feature modelled here.

3) Is there anyway to have Nav2 work on the FO gauge ??

4) Seems like the N2 on engine start does not go up to 25%, however, the engines do start at 10%.  This may be part of the new gauges that I installed per the mods thread.

5) Where are the EPR settings for takeoff, climb, cruise ?? I took a quick look through the manuals but did not find them.

6) Seemed like the A/P NAV mode really hunted the VOR with lots of S turns even when perfectly on course.  Is this normal for this FS model?  I ended up disconnecting it and using HDG mode.

Other than that it was a great flight, really enjoyed having to navigate and fly the STAR for a change...that another company NG spoils you rotten.

i always using 2d A\P panel (SHIFT+4). pitch adjustment works fine there.  Cant tell for FSUIPC, i dont have it.

Yep Smiley

Unfortunately no. Both HSI tied to Nav1, but FO's DME indicator shows NAV2 data. I asked about that member LOU, he said that on TWA planes they had a switch NAV1\NAV2, but thats an option on old 727's. I guess all 727-200 should have it, so let's hope for v2.5 release Wink

Hmm, something not right here. Machael2 gauges alters EPRs, not N2. N2 altered in aircraft.cfg  Mine 727-100 starts at 20% N2, and peaks way higher than 25% N2.

for 727-100 they included in Michael2 mod zip file, in pdf. together with takeoff V-speeds, ref-speeds, and so on. TAT gauge included in mod zip too.

Thats a real problem. Markoz knows much more about a\p modification. i use only HDG and ALT hold modes of A\P. And land by hand. Again lets hope for v2.5 Wink

Thanks for your replies.  I was using the 2D A/P panel so probably just need to get used to it.

I will double check my engine gauges to make sure I am not missing something.  I am using the Machael2 guages and will check the download for the PDF's.  thanks,

OK, double checked the engines and N2 is fine, I adjusted my EZDok window so things are clearer and I can read it properly.

Still having problems with the a/p 2D panel.  Does not seem to matter if I am at teh Down or UP side of the knob it always goes either up (or sometimes down).  strange.  I am able to change it with the trim knob so that will work for now.

Unfortunately, there is a bug with the AP pitch unless you have FSX Acceleration.  The AP pitch control does not work under FSX SP2.  There is a "fix" that you can download from the Captain Sim support area, but it caused me more problems than the issue it was supposed to fix.

I had to purchase and install Acceleration to get this working right.  Otherwise you will have to control pitch manually.  The AP will hold a pitch and altitude once you get stabilized, but that knob you are supposed to use to change the pitch will not work.

OK, good to know, I will just use it manually, not a big deal.

Actually, just testing it out again trying to get FSUIPC to work with AP Pitch, which is does not seem to.

It looks like the A/P pitch selector does work but its unidirectional.  In other words if you are pitch positive it will increase it regardless of whether you press the up or down side of the knob.  Same if the pitch is negative, it will continue making it more negative.  Now that I know this there is no problem working with it.  I will just manually trim until the numbers are in the direction I need and then use the knob.
