A/P Icon size

I would love it if one of you code guys could tell me how to reducee the size of the A/P (Shift +4) to approx. 50% of present size. I would also like to know how to keep it up all the time. If I step out of the plane in flight to admire the view, the A/P is gone when I get back in my seat.  Thanks   Braun

Hi Braum.

It's easy. Just edit [Window03] in the panel.cfg

This is the original:
[Window03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=427,106
position=2
visible=0
ident=10005
gauge00=Captain_Sim.p721.P12!P12_001_ap, 0,0, 427,106

This is it reduced by 50%
[Window03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=214,53
position=2
visible=0
ident=10005
gauge00=Captain_Sim.p721.P12!P12_001_ap, 0,0, 214,53

And this is mine
[Window03]
Background_color=0,0,0
size_mm=298,74
position=2
visible=0
ident=10005

gauge00=Captain_Sim.p721.P12!P12_001_ap, 0,0,298,74

Notice that mine is about 70% of the original one. That's because I found 50% too small. I'm oldish and wear glasses when fly in FSX, so 50% could be fine for the younger pilots! Wink

EDIT: To keep it visible all the time, right click on it and select Undock Window.

Mark....     Thank you so much however.....  I'm using Win7 home Pro. I'm new with this OS. When I made the changes and tried to save, I got an  access denied message.  I'm the only user on this OS and have admin. privileges so why can't I change a text file? Nothing including FSX is running when I do this.  I switched back to my old XP system and made your changes and the A/P is perfect. I like the Win 7 64bit FSX because the 727 has sounds i never heard before and loads fast.  I did go backwards with the oscillating yoke problem when I use the A/P. I don't remember how I fixed that in XP.  Should I load Acceleration on  a Win 7 OS

To make the changes to the panel.cfg, copy it from the FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes\CS_B727-100\panel folder to you desktop. Make another copy of the file (for backup purposes, then make the changes and save. Now copy the modified panel.cfg to Cs_B727-100\panel folder and paste it in there. When asked select the option to replace the original file. You might need to click on continue if it asks about administrative rights.

Let me know if that helps. Otherwise I need to come up with another idea.

As for Acceleration on a Windows 7 OS, it's up to you. I have Windows 7 Professional 64bit and I have FSX & Acceleration installed on my system. So you can install it if you want to. Wink
