707 - No switch or crew announcement sounds

Hi, any ideas - I can hear engine sounds, wheel screeches, BUT no switch sounds or crew announcements.

Checked other aircraft I've purchased and all works OK.

Running Windows 7 64 bit - FSX
Have recently purchased this so I'm guessing V1.3

I recently bought captain Sim and has exact the same problems...Any solutions.
Has a FSX Steam edition and Windows 8.1

The sound files are present in the sound folder: C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\Captain_Sim\707\sounds, but there is "something" missing... Sad

Yo,

Have had the same problem.

First I had uninstalled the 707 (with the uninstaller, not manual).
Then I had removed all entries in the fsx.cfg corresponding with the 707 (Sectioin "[Trusted]").
After this I had reinstalled the plane and all sounds had working again  Smiley

Don't know how compatible the 707 with the Steamversion is, but I don't think that there are problems with it.

The 707 works fine in the FSX Steam Edition (especially after the last update a few days ago).

These lines:

  <Launch.Addon>
    <Name>Captain Sim 707 Sound</Name>
    <Disabled>False</Disabled>
    <Path>Captain_Sim\707\cs.sound.dll</Path>
  </Launch.Addon>

must be entered into the FSX-SE DLL.XML file, to enable the sounds to work in the 707 in FSX Steam Edition.
NOTE. This can be difficult if the DLL.XML file doesn't already exist!

If you mean the DLL.XML file here:
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\ConfigData\AppData

Still no svitch or crew sounds.
Maybe a small hotfix would do the trick?

I don't know. They were working last time I checked them. A few things changed in the last update for FSX-SE, and I had to redo the entries in the DLL.XML file for FSX-SE.

Not in the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\ConfigData\AppData folder, in the C:\Users\[YOUR_USER_NAME_HERE]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE folder.

But you can start by copying the dll.xml file from the C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\FSX\ConfigData\AppData folder into the C:\Users\[YOUR_USER_NAME_HERE]\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\FSX-SE folder, THEN add the lines from my previous reply into the copied one (I hope that's not too confusing).

I did as you described above, but still no sounds...neither from the switches or any crew announcements.

It has to be something with FSX Steam edition and the last update...

Oh well, I have to do without the switches and the crew... Grin

I'll look into it. They are working fine for me in FSX-SE with the latest update. Undecided

Only got the 707 yesterday and figured it wouldn't make sense to start another topic on the same issue. It's a minor issue but I'd still like to get everything out of this bird!  Grin

I tried everything mentioned above however still no switch or crew sounds are working, does anyone maybe have another suggestion on this?

Hey,

Is this your first CS-Plane? Do you use FSX-SE or the "normal" FSX?

Have you tried my suggestions in my post from Jan. 20 2015? It is important to delete all entries in the fsx.cfg corresponding to the 707. Here is an example:

[Trusted]
I:\BigGames\FlightSimX\Captain_Sim\707\cs.sound.dll.ekhatoolnlwwbcblbeeqturenzin
lzwwwtlioioz=1

Just search for "707" and you will find all entries. After deleting these and reinstalling the plane the (switch)sounds should be work. This way worked for me.

If you just got it it should work. I had a severely outdated version and it did it. When you install the 707, you'll see a command prompt at the end of the installation appear for a second. It says something sound fix. This used to be a problem with all CS planes. Least the ones I've used in the past.

I read somewhere on these forums I believe that there's a .bat file that fixes it. CS team just integrated it into the installation.

So only way I can see to fix it is 1, reinstall and see if the command prompt appears, if it doesn't search for the sound fix.

PS: There is a temporary fix. After you load a flight open the toolbar and go select aircraft, when it opens press enter and it should work. Least on the ground. I've noticed that that method stops working in the air.
