Airline liveries have changed a lot over the years, and I was wondering which ones people liked more.

No vote from me because it's difficult to say. Because:
It all comes down to the aircraft itself. Retro suits older aircraft (707) while modern suits the newer aircraft (777).

Nathan did a retro Qantas V-Jet livery for the 707 as well as a modern Qantas livery. Both look great on the 707, but I prefer the older V-Jet livery. Because it suits the 707. IMO.

That is true. What about planes like the 747 and 757 which came out around the time airlines started switching to more modern paint schemes?

It still remains the same. The Qantas paint scheme from the 1970's is quite different from 2000's. So in reality, I like the paint scheme from the same period as the plane. Just my preference. Wink

I'll make that an option.  Wink

Okay, now you can vote "Depends on the plane."

My vote goes to "Depends on the plane". Old planes, old liveries; new planes, new liveries. IMHO, doesn't make sense old ones with new liveries, and vice versa.

My fleet (CS and from others developers):

Well, yeah. Obviously an old livery would not look good on a 787.  Grin

I agree with everyone else. Old plane, old livery. New plane, new livery

You know, what I was really asking was if you looked at just the paint scheme (without the plane, that is), which ones would you like more?
Or does it still depend on the plane?  Wink

I find it hard to "like" a modern paint scheme on an aircraft that has been retired, by the company, long before the new scheme showed up. I think it's because I can remember seeing those older paint schemes as a youngster. For those who were not around to actually see them at airports in their youth, I can see why you look at them that way. I'm too old to see it your way. Grin

So I assume you like the retro liveries that airlines do from time to time?

Not necessarily. It is what I remember from when I was young, that I find nostalgic. None of this retro paint scheme stuff on a modern airliner.

Ah. What's the oldest plane you ever got to fly on?

Not 100% sure. I know I flew from Singapore to Melbourne on a 707 in November 1963. I flew on other aircraft prior to that, but I have no idea what they were, I was a bit too young to know. It's no good me asking my mother, she wouldn't have a clue. I can ask my father because he passed away years ago. He definitely would have known what they were.
