Use of the Flight Director

Colleagues,

I've noticed a few anomolies with the Flight Director.  I'm wondering if anyone can shed some light:

1.  I cannot adjust the pitch angle on the ground unless I turn on and off the altitude hold button

2. When engaging the AP, if the FD is on, the AP will seek the pitch cue from the FD, not hold current attitude, and it will not respond to pitch changes on the AP switch panel

3  Turning the FD on to ILS Manual turns off the glide slope on the HSI.

4.  The FD in ILS Manual mode does not track the localizer.  It is off to the left consistenlty.

Curious if these are gremlins in the code or if I"m doing something wrong.

I've been practicing on the Summa 7 out of SEATAC.    Proceedure I'm following:

1.  Set heading bug to runway heading.  Turn on FD to heading mode.

2.  I don't set pitch because the plane is light and I will have to climb at a higher angle than the FD will let me (about 16 degrees)

3.  Once airborne, plane cleaned up,  I engage the AP (still in heading mode for the FD, manual for the AP) and the plane dives for the pitch bar, not holding the attitude.

I can work around this by setting the pitch on the FD once I'm cleaned up, but that isn't how it's supposed to work, at least as I read the docs.

Thanks!
