When I started out with subLOGIC Flight Simulator 2 in 1983, you could buy additional scenery for it (or at least I could on the FS2 for Amiga in 86 or 87. I'm not sure if I did or not back then, but I never bought another add-ons for FS until FS9. So I don't really know if that is the answer to that.
