hi there guys,

Hi there guys,

My self and TFDi Eric McNett are flying around the world this weekend, and now is the time for anyone who wants to sign up. Note, this is a hardcore trip, as it will be 16-20 hours hours per trip of straight flying. We will all assemble on Teamspeak 1 hour prior to the event, and the first part of the event is planned to start at 11:00PM EDT. Is till be spread out over two weekends, due to scheduling issues and that we don't want to be too tired. The route is listed below, and anyone with any questions can post here, or email me at cbiedenkapp@tfdidesign.com!

-In a comment, please respond with either:

1.Yes I am attending
2.I want to but am not sure if I can
3.Not sure
4.No

I will have to put option 2

I want to but am not sure if I can

I don't have a bird with the range needed for the third hop

time zone could be an issue as im in the uk and depending where you are in the usa i could be up to 9 hours ahead.

My wife might kill me if i spend a whole day flying Smiley

My 757 is what im mainly flying and the 300 does not have the range needed and my 763, im not sure if it covers the 300ER version which is what i would need for the third hop.

I would love to do this trip in the 757-300 but it would mean i would have to make a few pit stops Smiley

Doesn't the 777 offer some high range too?

My bad, I could have checked your banners of course.

Well, KORD to PHNL is 3.700nm
PHNL to  RJAA is 3.300nm
RJAA to EDDM is 5.100nm
EDDM to KORD is 4.000nm
All distances are great circle measurements.

I've never checked the range of the 767 in the sim, but Wikipedia says 5,990nm when going at MTOW with the 300ER (which the CS is from the weights and tanks). http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_767, so you could be well within the spectrum.
The last CS plane I roughly checked on fuel burn accuracy gave me a slightly too low one, so it may happen that you even get more out of the 767 then.

The 767 supports a full panel state save, so you can join Collin as long as you can and your wife supports and then continue later if you like.

The 757-200 (which gives you more range as the -300 since they've only stretched this variant but didn't include additional tanks) tops at 3.900nm, so you may safely use her on one trip then. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_757
Winds and routings together with necessary extra fuel won't allow the others there, being close to 3.900nm.
Which plane is Collin using by the way?

Of course, a classy way of doing this would be the 707 with 5.750nm range at MTOW. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Boeing_707
Doing VOR to VOR or INS then. My girlfriend would never allow this long-term flying.  Embarrassed But I'm wishing you guys the best.  Smiley

I am thinking about making it one leg per weekend.

ALSO, if you cannot make the whole trip, it's fine! I will give you all the credit for flying anyway, I understand that with such a long trip it's hard to get that amount of time.

The Captain Sim 767-300ER (5990nm) has the range to do even the longest leg on the trip. The 767-200ER (6,590nm) would blitz them and would be my choice of aircraft. I've found them to be able to get very close to the real world distances.
The 757-200 (3700nm) could do the 2nd, maybe the first (but it would be pushing it if into a head wind) and certainly not the last two. 757-300 has a shorter range (3,395) than the 757-200.

Having just got back from hospital and surgery, I feel a bit like a train wreck and don't think I can do the trip. Being in Aussie also creates difficulties as I am between 15 and 18 hours ahead of the US. Sad

I figured it would be flown on VATSIM. I would have no problem flying it tandem VATSIM and FsMultiplayer except my terrible internet my kick me out in the middle. I refuse to let that happen.
