Quick little question

After flying a few CS jetliners today, I noticed that airlines never paint the wings, and that they never seemed to paint the engines on the 707. Does anybody know why this is?

I think Nathan pointed out somewhere that the paint kit doesn't include them.
But as far as I'm aware of, he already did some painted wings/engines stuff and the VC-137 comes with painted cowlings too.

If you see on some older Japanese airliners, they have text on the wing(in real life).

I think the answer to why the wings are not painted is because the wings carry fuel and hydraulics and get pretty messy. Also, the condensation on the underside of the wing because of the fuel would make it hard to keep paint stuck to the surface.

I figured it had something to do with all the control surfaces and other moving parts. Thanks!  Smiley
