Is it worth it?

Hi, there. I have most of CS's Boeing aircraft (well, all, but the 757 kept causing problems with my computer, but that was boxed, so it was the distributer's fault, likely), and I was wondering about adding the 727 to my collection. Is it a much different experience from the others?

Thanks,

The 727 is one of the nicest flying planes, good speed, you're transition from the 707 will be without a hitch. It is fun, a bit more modern, good speed, nice blend of engine numbers (three is better than two, simpler than four). Honestly, my favorite airliner next to the 747-8X by a company I shan't name. I highly recommend it, however, I'd go for the Just Flight pack, just a detailed, but all the planes together for a lower price. I guarentsee you'll love it. It doesn't slow my system as much as th 707 or 757. Also, it lands pretty short, but I could beat it in my 757 if we had a contest  Grin

Cool! I'm going to buy something this weekend, and I think it'll be that (and maybe the VC-137 for my 707). Although, I heard the real one's super-noisy; did they include that feature? That would be a nice touch.

I don't think I'll get the Just Flight version, though. I got the 757 through Just Flight and it had compatibility issues. I think I'll be safer buying direct.

By the way, have you written that review for the 747-8x yet that you were talking about?

i think buying directly from CS is better, since when updates for the aircrafts are released, you have them right away from the developer Smiley

I still like this plane, you'll get the 707 like atmosphere (although this one is newer in concept) and you are able to do some short runway stuff while the 707 is very limited there. So being a freight dog with a preference for steam gauges might catch you when remote places are yours.
Of course, the appearance won't impress you that much after looking at the very current modelling (in the sim) of the 707, so be prepared for a slight fallback there.

Still, the thing is worth buying and flying it, also the tuning stuff around the forums is worth a look. I could name some remaining bugs, but I'm confident so far and it seems that development is still going on, so no dead horse in the hangar.  Smiley
From the sound side the updated sound pack helped much and if it doesn't, maybe some good value addon pack can fulfil any other needs.
Of course, Civa INS can be integrated  Wink and fits well into the "old" atmosphere of the deck.

Well, the review is on their queue, but my review for the Wings of Power III: Spitfire by A2A was expedited.

Here's the link, its a good buy for an awesomely detailed prop plane, WWII veteran and great flyer.

Yeah, that Spitfire is unbelievable.  I just got back into the CS 727 and I did the CIVA install, EPR fix, flight model mods, altimeter rollover fix, "don't sink" fix", and the MAC/TAT install, and I now have an awesome old steam gauge aircraft that I am learning inside and out so I can fly it by the numbers with realistic procedures on VATSIM.  I like the visuals of the 707, but I like the performance and appearance of the 727 in real life, so I fly it more.  I am a little weary of flying more modern airliners under IFR rules with FMS navigation because it is too simple.  I love VFR flying and navigation, but default ATC sucks for VFR and there isn't enough online coverage for VFR to be realistic.

Well, I bought the 727. It's great, though it's a bit too quiet (the real one was one of the noisiest jets ever around) and I can't figure out the navigation systems. Another awesome product! Keep it up, Captain Sim!  Grin
