Just heard CLS is updating their 747-200/300 to 1.5, with an FMC, such a big upgrade you have to pay!

There FMC (F-Lite) is no where near as complex as the ones used by most of the other developers. I can't see this being any different really.

I talked to one of their developers and they say an even more advanced upgrade is to come, which may include more systems, and an all-new product may possibly come out as a non-lite version. and remember guys, they're making a 'lite' version so don't criticize them too much.

Note most 747 Classics were never equipped with FMS, the notable exception being the British Airways' fleet, which later ended up in Air Atlanta Icelandic. For the vast majority of 747 classics the most advanced gear they got before retirement was the Litton LTN-92 INS.

As for the CLS model, I hope they seriously improve the look of the gauges because they currently look like they were made from MS paint. Grin Also they need to make the round analog engine gauges because that's what the majority of 747 classics have, rather than the KSSU/TWA style tape gauges.  Wink

Captain Sim, you have to do the 747 now, you've done all the others! (except the 717 and 787!) In fact, while we're at it, you might as well do those too!!! Grin

Cheers, Ayster

It will be awhile before it's possible to make an accurate 787 (but I'd definitely want one), and the 717 isn't really a Boeing plane, so it's not considered part of the series.

I mean that it wasn't made by Boeing. Is there another 717 that I don't know about?

Yes, Boeing gave a 717 designation to 707 models that were destined for Military uses, however this was little known, so they reused the name on the McDonnell Douglas MD-95.

I'd love to the a Captain Sim 747! Especially a -100! And the City Of Everett. Last year I went to Seattle and saw the City Of Everett and She's a beauty! But the paint is fading away and the plane is corroded in spots. But it was awesome to see the plane with all of it's original paint, engine, parts etc.

Yes, but I also thought they used the name on the 720 (for awhile).

I read that for the debuts of a new 747 model (forgot which), they leased City of Everett from the museum and flew it around. I envy those who saw it.  Wink

the 720 was a faster longer range model of the 707. The Dodgers baseball team used one for many years.
