747 Classic Series?

Hi Captain Sim,

Just wondering if you'd consider doing the Boeing 747 Classics to the pro line standard, i.e. the 747-100, 200 and 300, think it would be a BIG seller!  Grin

Thanks,
Alan.

Yes, all nice models. Just Flight has a 747-200/-300 series, but everybody has ignored the all important 747-100. I would howev er like to see a Douglas DC-8 first, the second american jet and ignored by everybody.

It would be nice to fly RA001 (the first 747).

Just flight's/CLS's is a light model though, it would be great to have the early 747s as a Pro Line product. Don't know much about the DC8 so can't comment on that.

Also the 747 would fit in nicely with CS's other addons, 707, 727, 737, 747, 757, 767   Smiley

Heres an album featuring 'City of Everett' looking in a bit of a sorry state at the Museum of Flight in Seattle, They should move this aviation icon indoors to protect it from further degradation!

This is the DC-8 below. It was the second american jetliner, made by Douglas, and is much tougher than the 707. They still have many in service today. Dused them for a long time, since they had variants taht were streched past the longest 707. They were easily re-engined and made great planes still. They were the workhorse for both United and Delta Air Lines for many years.

However, the cowlings are different, and the nose is the ditinctive Douglas/McDonnel Douglas narrowbody shape.

It looks almost like an MD-81 with wing-mounted engines... the fuselage seems pretty similar.

Exactly the same. The DC-9 which became the MD-80 and MD-90 and 717 series is the same. Just as the Boeing 707,720,727,737, and 757 all share the same fuselage. However, the 757 has a different front shape, it is still the same fuselage design.

The DOuglas DC-9, one of Delta's last

Here is a Douglas DC-8 wre-engined with CFM56 engines, proving more rugged, and expendable than the 707.

DF was going to do a DC-8 but for some reason the project has pretty much stalled.  Sad day when I heard it.  I'm hoping another developer like CLS will do one.
