I was just about to create a post on this very topic. The RFP 747 was the best 747 out there in terms of the in-depth systems. I would really like to see Captainsim take this to another level with a superb model of the 747-100,200,300 ( both Pax and freighter ) While I am all for a new top notch model of these aircrafts, I am also hoping that if this venture is possible, that the systems side of such a product will not suffer. Captsim will have to surpass the complexity of the RFP 747 and deliver something that will blow everyone away. I know it is not possible to have EVERY switch and circuit breaker working but what we need is a product that is geared to hardcore simmers where flying procedures are concerned.

Hey, sorry about that.

However I don't really agree with you on that one. While the 747SP was not as popular and, while the 741/2/3 were more popular, I can still see this as a great addon for fsx. What is the problem with it?? Any large 4 jet engined aircraft with the ability to operate from Wellington NZ on a regular basis will always have respect from me!! Smiley

The Existane of teh 747SP was to have a plane that was smaller and lighter, with a 747 design thta could go farther than the 747-100. The technology didn't exist at the time to make a 747-100 have increased range. Once the 747-200 then the 747-300 came out, the 747SP was obsolete as the latter could carry way more people, cargo with the same range. I'd rather be flying a full-sized 747 say a -200 or -300 (or -400 [even a -8]) there, its still a 747, but bigger cooler, and the 747SP doesn't even land shorter.

That's all good and fine, pj747, but as you can see, there is at least one, probably more, that would like the 747-SP. You didn't see me making negative comments about your wanting Captain Sim to do a DC-8 which I don't care for. Nor for the 747-8i/F, which another developer has already done and so we already have it. I believe Captain Sim could and would make a better one, but we can't expect them to make them all (but oh how I wish they could!). We each have our preferences. And the 747-SP is nzaviationrules preference. Wink

A -200 and -300 would be nice, especially because I just bought that from a certain company and was much less than pleased. I've yet to be disappointed by Captain Sim.  Grin

Yes it is what we would like. But the thing about these threads about an aircrasft wish or suggestion is that we CAN voice our opinions, and what we'd like to see and not like to see.

Yes, PJ747 this is a thread where you can post you're opinions- But it is also one where I can post mine. So I suggest we drop this whole SP is ugly vs SP is not and let captain sim make their own decisions, for this thread is for suggesting ideas, not taking other people's down, am I not correct?? Smiley

Its a bit stubby though, I still wouldn't object to having it for a review, just not my preference if you know what I mean....  Wink

That's ok, you're our Eastern Island.  Tongue Kiss

I too love the old -SP and it would be easy to fit into a 100/200/300 line.
I wish CS would also consider an early 747.

A DC8, now that IS butt ugly!  Wink

EDIT" Sheep next to the runway...in New Zealand....NAH!
OK I 'll stop the Kiwi jokes now.  Cool
