I've searched the internet and the KB, and I haven't found anything useful, so here's the problem: I hadn't even gotten off the ground yet when the outside (not the airplane) textures became blurry and the menu text (i.e. the fsx menu at the top of the screen) became unreadable. I fixed the textures by turning filtering to the highest setting, but the text was still unreadable... any suggestions?

Can you do some screenshots showing this issue?
The people with the knowledge eyes are able to actually see the problem then while, right now, they have to guess.  Smiley

Okay, I'll have that up in a few hours. Each letter turns into a black, fuzzy box.

Sounds more like a system's problem than one of the 707, but lets see the screenshots then.

Also note that both the glare shield above the window and the window itself are both loaded correctly.

I'm very confused that this has happened. While I've had this happen before with other aircraft, a Captain Sim aircraft has never done this (Weapon has not done it either). I guess the 707 is just really complicated or something (though I'm not sure if it's complexity tat does it, seeing as one aircraft that I had was not very complex, just a simple private jet, and it caused the same problem).

I believe that I have a solution (though of course, seeing as the problem does not always instantaneously show up, it could come back, and if it does, I'll post).

In fairness, I'm not entirely sure what did it, but it was either running FSX as administrator (I don' think that was it), or using this website--http://www.venetubo.com/fsx.html (courtesy of LOU)-- to create an optimized version of my fsx.cfg file.

It's back. I had a perfectly good flight, then I saved and exited--big mistake. The plane completely fouled up, outside textures blurred and so did text. Also the autopilot disengaged, the flight plan un-loaded and all of the lights turned off. What on Earth is going on?!  Embarrassed

I might just create a new topic considering what happened.

Hi boeing247.

Looks to me like your Graphics Card is having trouble handling the HD textures that the 707 uses. Any chance of getting your system specs?

Sure, I have an NVidia GeForce 8600M GT. It's the highest my computer will take. The thing is that sometimes it works, and other addons like the C-130, B-52, or 767 work just fine

Looks like you're using a Laptop. Going by the Graphics Card.

Those aircraft do not use HD textures (yet) so that is why your computer can handle them easier. Even I can get the occasional graphics issue with the 707 and my GC is a GTX470. I really think that is the main reason for your problem.

Yeah, I'm using a laptop--a Dell Inspiron 1720. Any suggestions for what to do?

Oh, and do you have any idea why everything worked until I reloaded the flight?
