Hi guys

Just got the 727 and love it.  How is engine smoke activated ?  Cant see an option for it in the ACE utility and the 'I' key doesnt activate it.

Many thanks

Do you mean contrails? They should be visible at higher altitudes, somewhere around FL260+

Guess he means smoke, not contrails. The JT8D was one of the good old load, stinky and smoky engines. The black smoke can be activated pressing I, but it's not as dense as it maybe should be.

I think that rather than pressing the "I" key to get the black smoke from the engines, it should be there all the time because the engines are, as you say, one of the good old loud, stinky and smoky engines.

The black smoke should be automatically progressive in velocity and density based on power settings and airspeed.  I remember the PSS Vulcan developers modelled this very well.

Yes, it should be there all the time and depend on the thottle setting- but at least in my version (2.3 boxed), it's just on or off, toggled by the I key.
