C130  FLOODS Multiplayer Session

Is Captain Sim aware of the fact that  their C130  FLOODS  any Multiplayer session it joins  with  "COM SET"   and  "COM2 SET" events, at a very high & unacceptable rate. !!   Embarrassed

Strangely,  this happnes only if the Radios are set  to OFF  !!!!   Shocked

Once they are turned ON,  or to test,  the Flooding Stops, and no further  "COM SET"  or "COM2 SET"  events are send.

While this does help,  it does not prevent the massive Flooding of the MP server, when the Aircraft Initially joins  ( In a COLD, Shutdown State).

PLEASE, PLEASE   can Captain Sim  address  this,  to prevent users of this aircraft being BANNED  from Multiplayer Sessions.

Thanks.

1/ I have read that explanation (1758) and you say you don't support network play because of the possibility of other problems causing issues. It’s not a sufficient answer to a paying customer. Other aircraft are OK thus leaving your C130 out in the cold.
2/ Fuel tank gauge 1 does not reflect changes to the level set in the fuel menu.

Difficult, as I do not own any Captain Sim Aircraft.  I  just run a MP Server  that some of the players  try to fly  the C130  on.

However,  from another post here, I see that  the "Captain Sim"  answer to  this one,  is that  their Product  is not supported  in Multiplayer,    which  only goes to re-enforce  what I have heard  so many people tell me about Captain Sim products, and  their  Technical Support.

Since it would seem that there is no solution from Tech Support  for  this issue, I  have looked futher  into it, and with the help of a programmer  who has  the C130,  have determined  the following.

(1) Flood occurs  from any of the Two COM radios,  if they are turned OFF !!.
(2) Flood is comming from  the COM radio  gauges  in the Virtual Cockpit.

Solution:
(Option 1) - BRUTE FORCE:  Use a HEX Editor,  and in the MDL  file,  replace all Occurances  of K:COM_RADIO_SET     with  L:COM_RADIO_SET,     and  replace all occurances  of K:COM2_RADIO_SET     with L:COM2_RADIO_SET.

While this may not be a very Technically elegant solution, it does stop  the flooding,    which  to be honest,  is all I really care about.

(Option 2)  Simpler approach:   For those not wanting to edit  their MDL  files  (with a suitable HEX editor),   the other option is to MAKE SURE,   that  BOTH COM Radios  are turned  to the ON Position, "as soon as possible"  after entering a MP session,   to  limit  the amount of time  you will be flooding the server.

Doing so will also  help you, with your connection to the server, and  also improve the operation of your  FSX,  while  in the session.

IF CAPTAIN SIM   has a better "solution"  , lets hear it.  Smiley

BTW:  All those I have talked to  that are flying the  C130  in MP,  report  that  there are no MAJOR issues   with the plane,  apart from some of the Gauges  not sharing correctly  ...  but the plane  is  Flyable  in Shared  Cockpit.   Once again, all I really care about  is  that the C130  does not cause other Non C130  players, and issues  in the MP session.
