Paintkit not aligned.

I am completing a repaint of the 707 in the colors of Conair of Scandinavia. Using the official paint kit from captain sim, this has not been accomplished without frustration. I understand that other repainters than me, has discovered a faulty alignment in the paint kit. It would be great to have this issue solved together with the addition of repaint files of the engines and wings. I think, this improvements would add a great deal to the value of this othervise fantastic product. After all, the CS 707 is, in my opinion, the best looking aircraft add on to FSX on the market.

Kindly  Smiley

Me too I had some testing before the livery fit correctly, but error are really small, if i am not wrong it's on the aft windows that are i 1 Pixel up but after fixing those you are fine and can always use for the next work.
One of the helping thing is that you don't need to close FSX for checking the texture you just change the aircraft  and get back to see change.
The problem is the engine is part of the main texture folder and there is a logo of pratt & whitney wich i think, not all company want it and it's not on the kit but you can always fix it.
This is more a question if you create your proper engine texture it's loaded  instead of the the main one, does this create problem?

In any case is one of the most nice PK i have seen in terms of detail and i hope me too that they will add the wing and the engine too.

All the texture in this aircraft are really High and that's why is really demanding on performance. I wondering if we can find a compromise for people with less performance PC.

Thanks.
There are reasons why we haven't included the wings and engines maps into the RK:
- wings and engines looks pretty much alike on 90% airlines. If one of 10 artists wants add something he can easily do it right on .dds file. BTW there are liveries with no PW logo eingines in the 707 pack.
Moreover the psd files are huge, dds files are big but many people download them, both combined = waste of traffic.

As for the "alignment", the RK is just a set of UV maps of the model. There's nothing to align. Hard job to align painting of one particular livery is the livery painter's job.

Hi

I think that the original post was in regard to the rear right hand section not being a mirror image of the left hand side, the distance between the lower window frames and any fuselage stripes is different for each side, but if this can not be rectified would it be possible to have the right hand rear door texture rectified as the door texture get flipped horizontally when applied to the model, it is not noticeable on any repaints with a horizontal fuselage stripe, but if the stripe is at anything other than horizontal you can notice it, you can see this on the Ecuatoriana colour scheme when in the sim, I must admit that I only noticed it when I did a Hawaiian colour scheme that had angled fuselage stripes across that particular door, as a repainter I did manage to make the texture work by flipping just the texture on the door area, but it would be nice if I did not have to remember to do that one, at my age I tend to forget things easily.

I have problems now and then with line up issues but 9x out of 10 i can line them up first time its just knowing were the line up point is

as for engines you can paint the dds file with the engines on you just have to paint a few layers and then tweak the opacity and fill option on each layer to get the color close to how you want it
i know this screen shots not that good but you can see i have changed the metal look of the engine's on the RAAF repaint to a gray all though still a bit shiny also i have added another repaint screen so you can tell the differance

Thank you for the tip, Nathan and for the nice schreens. yes, I think we can live with the small oddities in the paint kit. it can some times be quite time consuming to deal with them though.
