is it correct that when you know the basics of the 727 you can also fly the 707?

i'm still considering buying it, but it's quite a lot of money to spend considering i'm not sure if i can fly it

a demo would be very nice to try with

I'm flying the 727 too, and the 707 is quite similar. There are some differences though, like the hydraulics (because the elevators and ailerons on the 707 were cable-operated). But the fuel-system and the electrics are very similar, you just have one "unit" more per system.

So, if you're a 727 pilot, you sure can fly the 707! Just make yourself clear, that the 707 needs much more runway than the 727 does, and you'll be fine!  Wink

thanks for the update Smiley

i currently have a small virtual airline on fsairlines with the b727-100/200 and flying from Rotterdam Airport to some regional destinations across the EU.

I think i have to move my little operation to AMS airport when i want to use the B707, but i try to avoid it, because i have a scenery addon for EHAM and its a bit of an FPS eater Smiley

The nice thing about the 707 is thats it's as easy or as complicated as YOU want to make it. Some here like going through every detail to make it 'as real as it gets', and others like me just want to fly the thing and not spend an hour 'pre-flighting'.

For me, I just set trim and flaps, load a FS flight plan, and at 140kts I aviate, let Otto do his thing above 1000ft, then call the stweardess's to the cockpit for a 'chat'   Smiley

Flight Lead: "Bandits at 3 oclock!!!"&&Wingman: "It's only 2:30 now, what do we do til then?"

haha yeah Smiley

i do the same thing with otto etc, i've added fspassenger X to it to give it a bit more touch during flights giving food and making the passengers happy Smiley

for Finn:
I made an unofficial Air Holland virtual airline. They are bankrupt for a long while now and since i liked the old livery and they actually flew with the 727-200 aircrafts i brought up the idea to create a VA for myself for it Smiley nothing fancy, just to keep something registered on flighthours etc Smiley, There is no livery available for it, so i dug up my pencils and created my own livery pretty close to the original and i think it really matches up with the original one, despite my lack of knowledge of photoshop painting  Cool

I also have the 757/767 from captainsim but i got lost in how to fly with the FMC even though i tried following some guides. In the end, its not a thing for me.. so i kept flying with the 727 which i enjoy very much, but i do want something bigger and since the captainsim has great products i'm thinking of adding the 707 to the fleet although air holland never flew with it.. but hey, its virtual and its a game Smiley
