Appears that Just Planes have come up with a new 707 DVD.
You can see small parts in You Tube:

Must see.... God, this engine sound makes me high.....

Always nice to watch the Pros ..

I think the preflight cleaning was just for show, that birds looks dirty and old - nice  Cheesy

Few things:
- check the EPR readings (not the values, the needle positions), way off any TO settings on our 707 where you can drive them to 12 o'clock position while those guys seem to be at 8 or 9 max. Try this setting in the sim and you can barely taxi  Tongue
- very gentle FO, holding his hand over the very bright gear warnings on that dusk TO
- See how they operate the yoke (that's what I call a yoke, it's huge), no power driven flight controls here (except for the rudder I think)
- was that some Dutch rolling on the approach at the end of the video?

Thanks for the vid, Martin.

Nice video, thx for sharing!

They might have other EPR-gauges than we do, you cant tell what EPR-setting they actually have just according to theyre position. The scale of the gauges might be different too...

Did you notice the STAND-BY horizon in the video???
Not at all like the one in our 707.

The preflight dusting was for real. When the sun would hit the instruments the dust would make it hard to see the instruments. Some of the pilots would use the little brush, but most would use the O2 mask cleaner towel after the mask was cleaned.

It was seldom that we would use full EPR during takeoff unless we were very heavy or the field was short or it was hot. We used what was called "standard thrust" for takeoff as often as possible to save the engines.  At first this "standard thrust" takeoff setting was called "reduced thrust" takeoff, but someone in management thought is sounded better using "standard."  Grin

Do you remember any EPR values, Lou?

Does this table come close to the real ones used?

Cool and the gang,

That is not a chart I have seen before, however most of the Boeing charts had a look something like that.
As I've said before - I wish I'd kept the old books for both the 707 & 727.

The takeoff computation would have to include:

Airport temp
Altitude
Station pressure
RW length
Slope
Wind
GW

You are right, Lou, I just cut out that picture. The whole page looks like this (note the additional items)

and you can find some more real looking 707 docs here (Search Avsim for 707perf.zip).
Nice readings.
