External Pwr/ext Air

Hello
When i will fly the 707 i usually load the default C172 turn off engine and batteries. Then i load the 707. When i connect the ext pwr/air i'm able to start the engines. But if i wait lets say 5 minutes they are impossible to start.
Trying to align the INS under 5 minutes is impossible.

any thoughts gentlemen
regards
mikael

I have my default flight as the MS C172 (engines running etc) as everyone should (or the MS microlight)

If I/you just load a flight from any airport and ramp, I find CS 707 shuts its self down to a almost Cold and Dark state.

ATM and with it being a 3 man job IRL its one of the very few aircraft I don't start myself, as a Captain in the 707 just flicks the fuel cut of to on IRL, the FO and engineer do all the hard work.
So in the 707 so far its a Ctrl+E for me and the FO and engineer start her up perfect every-time.
All I need to do is turn the air-con on after.

So try not shutting down the C172 trust the 707 to do it, fsx hates switching aircraft when one is complex

Hi guys

What i mean was, even if i load the default cessna and then load the 707 and shutting it down myself, and then connecting external power/air. If i dont start the engines within approx 5 min from the connection the engines wont get started. not even with ctrl+e.
same with loading the cold dark.

thanks guys

Question for Bloodclot:

Have you already installed the Simfly Carousel IV in the 707?  If so, where did you get the necessary .cfg and panel.cfg modifications?

Thanks in advance.

You can find the cfg in the CS707 folder!
save the original panel cfg and then replace it with the CIVA.

thank you markoz that did the trick  Smiley

Thanks for the response, Bloodclot.  I should have known to look there but didn't think of it.  I understand that it is an either/or situation: I can either have DNS or INS but can't switch back and fourth for each flight unless I swap the panel cfg files (original for CIVA) each time before loading the aircraft, right?

Thanks again for the fast response.

There's a switch on the main panal where you can choose between INS or Doppler  naviagtion. Dont think you will need to switch the cfg.
i think it is that way, i havent tried the doppler navigation yet.

Hmmm...I tried the switch without doing anything with the panel cfg files, but the switch would not move from the DNS position.  I haven't tried it yet, but I take this to mean I have to save the panel.cfg file somewhere else, then rename CIVA.cfg to panel.cfg. Then if I want to go back to DNS I have to reverse that process. I also understand from another thread that with CIVA installed the VC looks the same, that is, the DNS is visible in the console, not the INS.  Is the INS a pop-up then?

No.

Just do what bloodcot says. Save the panel.cfg to panel.cfg.save, save  the CIVApanel.cfg to panel.cfg.

After that Shift 1 shows you not only the CS menu but also the civa menu buttons which will popup the Civa Screens. From now you are able to switch from doppler to ins and back using the switch in VC, works for me perfect.

I apologize for needing more help, you would think I'm a newbie but I have a lot of experience with CS and other products and with CIVA, but I can't get the INS to work.  I changed the names of the files as suggested and the INS components show up in  the list of views>instrument panels, but not in Shift-1.  When I check the components in views the boxes open but they are black.  With power to the aircraft if I try the DNS-INS switch, nothing happens, it remains locked in DNS mode.

Sorry to ask yet again but HELP!

Disregard my call for help!  I'm a total dufus.  A long time ago I had downloaded CIVA to FS9 and used it on that version of the CS 707, but didn't think to install it in FSX.  I have INS now.
