I am really new to the cs line and need help

I have already checked the manuals and did not come up with my answers.

Is Shift+P 1 or 2 the only way to engage push backs?

How do you guys calc cg for the FMC input?

I have trouble getting the decent to start if I choose any method other than vs button then - xxx/1000 fpm.  I would like to dial up the new level and click the button to initiate but it doesn't seem to be receptive to the press, push or click.  Probably me.

Thanks,

RayM

Hi Ray.

For pushback. Yes. Shift + P 1  or Shift + P 2 is the only way (I have never heard of any other way).

If you look at the 757 tutorial by aussie HERE, he describes how to work out the CG.

The descent should start automatically at the T/D. If  it isn't displaying a T/D then you might not have selected a RWY, STAR and TRANS for you destination airport. There could be another fault, just check out our Topic HERE and take not of Paul's (fsxpaul) reply (#6) for the solution.

Thanks Mark,  the altitude selector for the 747 uses a push or press to initiate the change to the new altitude when not part of the VNAV plan.  It appears that cs does not use that method.

You should be able to change the altitude using the FLCH button on the MCP. I have had times when I have needed to use it and it has worked.

I will try the FLCH button on the next flight.  Thanks.
