Which to Buy - 767 Capt or 757 Capt?  Tomorrow

With the 24 hour sale looming, I need to decide what to buy. Last December I got the C-130x Pro Pack and have been flying it off and on since.

Now I need a big heavy jet. Any recommendations.  I am only going to buy ONE so I can learn it and not split my time between similiar models.

Thanks.  Smiley

Which one of those two do you like the most?

Both of them are very similar, so it comes down to your preference.

I love the 767 the best. I do quite a lot of long haul flights of 12-16 hours. I have also flown flights of around 1 hour in it.

I will probably buy the Space Shuttle during the sale! Maybe XLoad as well. Although €9.99 is XLoads usual price, so I'm a bit iffy on that one. I really only have those two left to buy for FSX. Until the B-52 Driver and 707 Captain are released.

I like both. but I would give a slight edge to the 767 because it's night panel lighting is superior to that of the 757.

Thanks guys for your thoughts.  I don't know hardlly anything about either one.  I usually take the most recent one in a toss up.  I bought the 727 and 727 freigher along with the 130x ProPack last sale. I haven't even loaded up the 727 yet.

Do you guys know if a tutorial exists for either other than some youTube videos?

I enjoy both.  I've tweaked all of the problems out of them (at least the ones that matter to me), but I agree that the 767 is marginally better because of the night lighting in the cockpit off the shelf.  I have a 757 gouge that takes you step by step through every switch... the skeleton of a tutorial.  I haven't given up on one and have have taken a lot of the screenshots, but I've been very lazy.  I have both and would give up every other addon before I would give up either.

Thanks Tim.  I was just over at wikipedia reading about the Boeing line and various models.  It sounds like the flight decks are almost the same.  Is that a fair statement?

Also, lots of YouTube and forum info for either or both.

Thanks again for your post.

Yes, they're pretty same (one is a bit darker). What do you really expect from the acft? If you're in a VA of some sort, then it might be wise to think long-term (to suit the fleet et cetera); if you like long hauls - pick the 767, if not - take the 757. I think the latter gives more flexibility in choosing routes to fly. Dunno, take 767  Smiley (long hauls are great).

I think I will go with the 767 today and if I am pleased as expected, I can look forward to the next 24 hour sale to pick up the 757.  Sounds like a plan.

thanks all.

Edit  . . .

That was a no brainer.  I now own both the 767-300 and the 757-200.  When I got to the checkout screen and saw the euro conversion was $12.51 I backed up and added the 757.  What a deal.  Downloading now. I will probably spend the rest of the day at Office Depot getting the manuals printed and bound.

I haven't check yet, but I bet most of the written stuff applies to either, except for loading and performance.

Thanks again for your posts.

Thanks Mark.  Crossed fingers must work.  I loaded up the 757, Ctrl +E, added some flaps, Had about 10,000 ft of runway, watched it takeoff and climb to ICA, then shut it down and started unzipping the manuals.  Looks great. Roll Eyes
