Stand-alone radar same as included one?

Is the stand-alone CS weather radar the same as the ones included in the FSX 727, 757, and 767?  I.E. if I buy any or all of these planes, can I use the included CS weather radar in other FSX planes as well, or would I still need the stand-alone radar for that?

The one included in the 727 is very close to the same as this one and includes the 2D Weather Radar Panel as well. The ones in the 757 and 767 are only the weather screen displayed on the Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI).

Hope this helps.

Thanks.  But I'm not so much interested in the appearance, but rather the possibility to use the included weather radars in non-CS aircraft.
Do you know if that's possible, or would I need to get the stand-alone version for that?

If that is what you are wanting to do, then I highly recommend that you buy the stand alone CS Weather Radar.

Mark you are right. The radar included into our products cannot be used in other aircraft, only standalone version can.

Hmm. Not so sure about that. Copied the CS721 WX into this freeware King Air and looks pretty nice!

I think you will find that Captain Sim mean you are not supposed to do that. Not so much the fact that you cannot actually do it.
Just be aware that you might be breaking the EULA of the 727 Base Pack, that you accepted before installing, by doing that. Wink

Apologies to the management.  Have commented the gauge out and replaced with a GNS530 unit . .

Hmmm and if i purchase the Weather Radar, the standalone version, can that be mixed into any cockpit?

I mean, is it possible to get it to overlay into an existing panel or will it only work as a popup?

Thanks,
Nuno

As far as I know you can.

The only VC I have added mine to is the CLS MD-81/82/87. But they provided a place in the VC to put it and included instructions on how to do it. So it was very easy.

For the rest of my aircraft that I have added it to, I just use the 2D Panel.

I see... I was thinking more of an overlay into an already existing PFD (transparent or something), but unless there is an option to do that with the radar, it won't be possible for sure.

I don't think you can have it as a transparent overlay on a PFD. It would either be behind it, so you can't see it, or over the top of it, so you can't see the PFD. Sad
