757 Autoland rolling off the runway....

Anyone noticed this? On an ILS approach I usually land with full flaps and 140 knots autothrottle. the plane keeps glideslope fine and lands exactly on spot. However, after landing while braking, its drifts slightly to the right often bringing it off the runway. Steering against that drift has no effect.

Anyone has an Idea what I am doing wrong? Wind last time was around 7 knots....

Hi SoulFlight,

this happens on all your ILS autolandings? Or a specific Airport/Runway. If only on specific, then tell me the Name please. Then i will to a test...

I haven't had it do that. And I don't ever remember seeing it do it.

After landing, if you press the "Z" key ONCE (default for turning autopilot on/off), you can control it's direction then. I actually do this once I have turned the Reverse Thrust off. I also tap the brake button on my joystick to turn auto brakes off. This stops the plane from coming to a complete halt so I can continue to the runway exit.

You need to turn off the autopilot, make sure two autopilots are commanded on when you autoland.

Ok thanks everyone, I didnt know about the two autopilots. Now its works smoothly and if I see it does not, I use keyboard to disengage.

I always get AUTOLAND 3 with the 3 A/P CMD buttons lit. Pressing one button (or the default AP key "Z") always turns all 3 off.
