CS 727 and Windows 7 - an issue?

Hello, ladies and gentlemen.

Yesterday I couldn't resist any longer and purchased the FSX 727. I love the 727, and since I had to scrap the first version of CS727 when I went to FS-X I have eagerly waited for this version.

The FSX version installed like a champ, no problems so far. When I launched FSX the three holer was there in the menu and it was a blast to finally see my dream standing there on my own tarmac in all her glory. The Captain Sim 727 is by far the absolutely best looking aircraft for FS I have ever seen, and I have been around with FS since early ninetees (former member of FPDA - Freeware Panel Designer Association).

But, there is a BUT, when in cockpit I soon found out that it was impossible to use the battery switch. Hm, I needed that ON if I should manage to start her up. Alot of the switches in the engineer's panel was movable though, but without starting anything. I tried to jump start her with Ctrl - E, no success either and after a short while I found out that none of the switches in the overhead worked either. No yokes either. I tried to remove FSUIPC, no success. I tried to load the CS727 twice, and still no live in the aircraft systems.

The I went back to the spec for this addon, and....... it says the CS727 must have XP or Vista to run. I have W7  Cry . Off course I should have noticed this in the first place, it's my fault  Embarrassed  , but under the CS acknowledge base as far as I remember I found a line where its says that this FSX version of the 727 might be possible to be flown also under W7.

I am not complaining about the CS 727 as a product, it was me who overlooked the OS issue.

So to my question (yeah, I know, I always use a lot of words - english isn't my mother language): Does anybody out there fly the CS 727 for FSX under W7, or if not does anybody know if I can hope for a future W7 patch? I really hope so, I already love this package even I so far only can sit on the tarmac and watch her.  Cry

Looking forward to hear from you, all!  Wink

Kind regards
Mr Beachman

I am so sorry, Sir, I couldn't dream of breaking any of Your rules here. The intention behind my questioning was more to hear about other CS727 pilots experiences related to my minor issue, I didn't want to wake up Your support dept for this.

Anyway, thanks to the very kind Mr Mark (Markoz) I now know that the CS727 might be flyable also under my W7. Thanks, Mark, I appreciated your feedback!  Smiley

That said, and finally, I have as we speak off course followed Site Admin, the honourable Captain Sim 2's advice regarding the use of CS Tech Support. It took quite a while to complete the tech form, but now it's done and I am looking forward to hear what the fine talents in the hangar have to tell me. Basically I just want to step up to level of real pleasure where Mr. Mark and many with him is; flying the beautiful CS727.

Thanks, all involved, and have a nice day  Smiley

Kind regards
Mr Beachman

Hi again, fellow pilots.

Guess what - soon after I posted the message above I received a mail from CaptainSim with a suggestion how to fix to my problem starting up the 727. I did as they suggested and VOILA, now I am flying the greatest FS addon ever!!

Thak you very much for Your outstanding and very effective customer support, CaptainSim. This was really awesome, and you've made me a happy pilot again! Thank You very much, Sirs.

Now, where did I put the credit card? I think I need a 200 and a freighter version also now.

Life is god!

Kind regards

Can you share with us the fix you got from Capt Sim Support ?.- I found nothing about it in the data base, so I think I am not braking the forum rules.-

So I've also to post here because the Support don't give another way.
I've opened a ticket but it was deleted with this statement:

Thank you for contacting Captain Sim Customer Support. Your Ticket has been reviewed but cancelled because the same question has been previously answered. If you wish to review the answer please Check-in at http://www.captainsim.com/support/- Click Product Name > Customer Support > Search KB > C > Search for KB# 182.

I mean of course I've read and followed all steps of KB# 182 but it doesn't help me. So I ask you Beachman how did you solved your problem?

I have the CS757 and CD767 installed and no CTD. Is just the CS727.

Great thread and one I will keep my eye on.  I too am curious what the fix was.

Having all the technical knowledge locked away behind a door non-customers can't access doesn't help us make the decision to throw down our hard earned money for your product.  I'm not complaining...but please understand our point of view.

I so want to buy this 727 for my FSX, Win 7 64bit setup. It's the lack of information I can get my hands on regarding the GoFlight hardware that honestly is keeping me from pulling the trigger.

Hi guys,

when I first installed this aircraft, everything worked fine.

After messing up my FSX-installation twice, and subsequently reinstalling it completely, I had this exact same problem.

HOWEVER:

Everything works now, after uninstalling CS727, removing any leftover files and deleting the registry entries for this plane.

Now, after reinstalling/reactivating it works again =)

I guess it could have to do with something changing in the system and thereby invalidating the activation!

Cheers,

Stefan
