I have the same no switch sound problem with the 727. I noticed that the cs.sound.dll is missing from the Captain_Sim/727 folder. I copied the dll from the 707 into the 727 folder but still no sound. Could this be the problem?

Windows 7 Home 64 bit. I have most of the Capt Sim products and have no other problems.

Update:
Fixed.

Major thanks to Brian G. for his help with this.

For all of those who are plagued by this sound problem here is how I fixed it:

I was missing msvcr71.dll from Windows/SysWOW64 (specific location for Windows 7 64 bit)

I found the msvcr71.dll download by doing a google search for the file for Windows 7 64 bit. (message me for the exact link)

As the instructions suggested, I placed the files in Windows/SysWOW64.

I started FSX, loaded the 727, then loaded it again and now my sounds work. Cheesy

Windows updates are kept current. In the SysWOW64 folder both the MSVCP71.dll and msvcr71.dll are already present. I tried the load and reload with no success.

Don,
Try this. Courtesy of Markoz.

They still don't work after reloading the aircraft? Try doing this - Open the sound.ini file, found in [FSX root folder]\Captain_Sim\727 and change SoundOffWhenSimIsSlew=1 to SoundOffWhenSimIsSlew=0 like this:

[Common]
Refresh.Time=10
Sound.Directory=Captain_Sim\727\sound
SoundOffWhenSimIsSlew=0
SoundOffWhenSimIsPaused=1
SoundOffWhenSimDialogIsOpen=1
SoundOffWhenSimSoundIsOff=1

Tried that, didn't work. Read another post here about swapping the 727 sound gauge with the 707 one and putting it in the gauge folder. I'll try that later and see what happens. It's no big deal, figured I poke around and see if I could make it work.
Didn't realize this topic had been beaten to death. Thanks for all the input in other related posts.
Thanks

Copied the Captain_Sim.x707.sound.gau from the panel folder, renamed it Captain_Sim.p727.sound.gau and placed it in the Gauges folder (make sure to rename the original 727 sound gauge first). Fired up FSX, selected a 727 at my default KSEA and started flipping switches. Most sounds work in the VC. The rotating light knobs and trim wheel were silent. When selecting the autopilot in a separate window the switches are silent.
On the next test I copied the cs.sound.dll from the Captain_Sim 707 folder into the 727 folder. I fired up the sim and got an orange error message of "4764 ERROR: Thread sound with this id already exist (1108002)." The sounds still worked but I put it back the way I found it and deleted the cs.sound.dll from the 727 folder. The 707 sound gauge is a good work around. I'm going to leave it like this for awhile and see if it continues to work normally without having to load, re-load or reset anything. It would be nice to see a fix.

It appears the 707 gauge is causing the error message. It's only on for a few seconds. I can live with that.

Even though logged in, I apparently don't have permssion to start a new thread in CS forums. But I can post replies.. anyone know why that is?

As for my question, I have the FS9 (Legendary) B707, B727 and C130. Search as I might (user guides, forums, Google) I can't find any instruction as to how to turn off the (automatically played) flight attendent cabin announcements. I have other programmes to do this, and in cargo aircraft they are inapproriate. Could someone kindly help? Doesn't seem to be much activity here these days, so don't know if anyone is even going to read this!

Thanks.

You need to post 10 replies before you can create a new topic. At the time of my writing this reply, you only have 7.

I don't have any Captain Sim products for FS9, as by the time I decided I wanted the complex flight sim addons, like those done by Captain Sim, I was only using FSX.
Is there nothing in the TCE: Textures and Config Editor where you can to disable them?

Hi,

Many thanks for the reply. I looked there, but am clearly going blind, or senile - or both: yesterday I couldn't see anything to shut this off, today, I found the 'Off' option on the second tab.

Thanks again.
