MarkOz - I'm sorry I forgot to include your Flight Engineer Hotkey fix in my file  Embarrassed

Hi Matt.

I wasn't expecting that to be in there anyway so don't worry about it.  Wink

Hi Mark.

I've tested the fixes. Great work and thanks.

With the autopilot fix, I have the same issue that Alex C. stated. The Elevator Master(Pitch Hold) does not flip up in the pop up AP window.
Tested in my brother's PC and in mine with same result.

Embarrassed

Thanks

Javier

Javier;

I'm sorry it isn't flipping up properly for you  Cry

Are you running FSX SP2 (or acceleration)?  I am running FSX Accel on Vista64; so I can't vouch for any other setup.

If that isn't the problem the only thing I can think of is turning the AP off and on a couple of times, including rotating the Mode selector knob all the way to the right and back to Manual.  I find I have to do that to get things to work properly sometimes, especially after loading a saved flight.

Good luck!  And please let us know if you solve it.

Matt: thanks for the detailed information!!!!! Cheesy.... I will give it a try.  I flew only once on the 727-100 AA and I finally was able to keep the plane at the desired altitude/speed with the fixes you released, which is sweet!!
I would give it a try tonight with the help you gave me.

One more thing! Embarrassed I mentioned before about the fact that the 727-200 and freight version controls are completely unaware of the mouse cursor! I can't click or 'rotate' any knobs! what could possibly be causing this? I emailed the support team but I haven't heard from them yet!  anyways if you could think of something that would be nice of you!

Matt

I am running FSX SP2 on XP SP2. No resolution on the Pitch hold flipping issue but no biggie, the AP mod you made works fine and is a vast improvement on the original as far as flyability is concerned. I will get used to checking whether it is off or on by yanking on my yoke. OOOOps,...didn't sound right that! Grin. Anyway, I suspect it is an XP issue since no one using W7 or Vista seems to have reported this problem. Thanks again for the AWESOME work. Happy Christmas and a Merry New Year! Smiley

Hi, I have Win7 FS10 SP2, so it's not a problem with XP. I tried what you mentioned but still not working. I'll keep trying. Thanks.

Alex, Javier -

The variable that I used to control the display of the elevator master switch may only apply to Acceleration.  As long as it works that is the important thing I guess.  In addition to yanking the yoke you might be able to tell the status of that elevator master by clicking it; if it jumps up for an instant then you know you have just turned it on.  At least that is how it worked in a previous iteration of the gauge for me.

Aircanada - your clicking problem with the -200 and freighters sounds like an activation issue to me...that might be how they protect the copyright.  Best go with a trouble ticket on that one.  Just a guess though.

Good luck and Merry Christmas to all!

An activation issue Huh but I already paid Undecided .....One more thing I noticed yesterday is that the planes do not have the yoke/stick?! and the captain window automatically opens as soon as I load the aircraft. I tried to closed it with my mouse but its fixed and almost like doesn't want to move upwards!! Embarrassed

I did fly with the instructions; Manual mode, and like I said before I was able to keep altitude and speed nicely, very pleasant this plane is, to say the least. The part I still don't get is the VOR/NAV button#2 I switched to NAV/VOR so the plane will followed the HDG direction, but I did not notice anything at all. I saw the amber light on the dash(VOR/NAV) and all, but I still didn't steer in any direction... I know that when the VOR/NAV is ON the plane follows that pink line on the Navigation system in my other planes...
The triangle knob, you mentioned it only moves an arrow but its kinda of hard to read in the dial...any thoughts?
Thanks.

I have something to add to the mods. In the Aircraft.cfg you need to find the [GPWS] section. The top is the original, the lower is the modified value. This will remove the "GLIDE SLOPE" or "PULL UP" warning (I forget which one it is now) when on approach.

[GPWS]
max_warning_height         =  1200
sink_rate_fpm              = -1500
excessive_sink_rate_fpm    = -2000
climbout_sink_rate_fpm     = -100
flap_and_gear_sink_rate_fpm= -100

[GPWS]
max_warning_height         =  1200
sink_rate_fpm              = -1500
excessive_sink_rate_fpm    = -2000
climbout_sink_rate_fpm     = -1000
flap_and_gear_sink_rate_fpm= -1000

Thanks - I had forgotten that one!  I believe the words you're looking for are "DON'T SINK" Angry LOL

Aircanada - I recommend that you google "VOR navigation" and read up on how the frequencies, radials etc. work.  Once you've got a handle on the basics, try flying to some VOR's for practice without the AP...after that you will be able to tell if the AP is doing what it is supposed to or not.

If you use my NAV/GPS button mod, the aircraft should follow your GPS trackline nicely (don't tell anyone, I do it a lot...)

Thanks Launchbury.

It'll be great to get rid of that warning when landing. It's so annoying.  Smiley

Hi again Matt.

Have you tested the EPR fix? Does it work with the performance charts?

I'v been testing and don't work properlly for me.

BTW, do you have a gauge for the TAT? I cant find one, so I'm trying to create one.

I would like to know the relationship between our community mods and the updates in that came out in the new version 2.3 update. Is it the same changes and fixes, or is it something we should be comparing our work against to see which is superior?

Fuel Flow fix:

The best information I can find gives the 727 a roughly 10,000 lbs/hour fuel burn. The default CS burns about 7,500 PPH. Find the following in aircraft.cfg

[GeneralEngineData]
engine_type= 1
Engine.0= -41.000, -8.960, 2.500
Engine.1= -48.000, 0.000, 2.500
Engine.2= -41.000, 8.960, 2.500
fuel_flow_scalar= 0.361
min_throttle_limit=-0.25
max_contrail_temperature = -30

Change the fuel flow scalar so the entry reads like this:

[GeneralEngineData]
engine_type= 1
Engine.0= -41.000, -8.960, 2.500
Engine.1= -48.000, 0.000, 2.500
Engine.2= -41.000, 8.960, 2.500
fuel_flow_scalar= 0.4344
min_throttle_limit=-0.25
max_contrail_temperature = -30
