Actually there should be no problem. Just check in "aircraft.cfg" if there are the following lines :

[exits]
number_of_exits=4
exit.0 = 0.4,  59.4, -5.0,  3.0, 0
exit.1 = 0.4, -38.5,  4.5, -3.0, 1
exit.2 = 0.4,  33.5,  3.5, -4.0, 2
exit.3 = 0.4,  33.5,  3.5, -4.0, 2

If the lines are OK, then you're absolutely right about parking. Actually if you're not in right place and want to call fuel tank or whatever then you should get message smth. like "If you want fuel tank you should be at right place". And the last but not the least: try to choose 757, then choose the desired airport, choose the parking, and go to that airport. Flight Sim will place the plane right to the place it should be, and evrth. will work fine.

Falcon

Have you tried to change the scenario complexity? Have you tried other airports (usually those with more traffic)?

About turning left or right on pushback, I'm having the same problem, not only with 757 but with a few other add-ons.

I have not found a pattern but it seems that if you navigate on all the views (F10+A+A+A+A) then it makes the turn.

Schmid,

What do you mean by the scenario complexity?

I'm sorry.

Have you increased Scenery complexity, Autogen density and Special effects detail?

Settings - Display - Scenery menu.

Although I have a high density airport CHP Kastrup standard in FSX ( In the help section in scenery it describes a few high density scenery airports). It doesn't work. I tried what you suggest schimid. The tug shows and engages. In FSX default aircrfat it works great, turns are posssible and some other add ons I have. I've only added some lines to the [exits] section to make the gateway attach to the front PAX door;(topic)http://www.captainsim.org/yabb2/YaBB.pl?num=1246544287 But this shouldn't have any effect on the contact points which I think are responsible for the pushback turn command. Normally I load my sim from my default flight, go through the views,before downloading weather and then creating a flight be active rwy. or gate. I have the same issue with my updated VC-10. I have submitted 2 support tickets now regarding this little issue, just trying to get as realistic as possible Smiley

About airport vehicles, set it to medium at least (settings-display-traffic-airport vehicle).

About pushback turns, using Shift+P 1 or 2:
- Sometimes it works on F1-Cessna Mustang; F1-ATR72 and another company Airbuses.
- It almost never works on CS757;
- It always works on another company 747, MD11 and JS4100; LVLD767; another company 73x, Legacy and E-Jets; F1-Pilatus;

I have not found a pattern, yet... but still working on it, if there is one.

I guess I've been very lucky, because I don't have any problems with the jetway animations or with turning during pushback. I'll chip in with what I have found to be successful.

  • For the jetway animations to work, make sure Advanced animation is checked (Options > Settings > Display > Graphics tab).
  • The number of jetways at FSX default airports is controlled by the Scenery complexity slider on the Scenery tab. A few begin to appear when the slider is set to Normal, and the number increases as the complexity increases. At some smaller airports with few jetways, you may not see any jetways at all until the complexity is set to Dense or Very Dense.
  • For add-on airports, the jetways may or may not move, depending upon the choices made by the programmers. Also, some programs (e.g. MyTraffic X) allow for the jetways to move at gates occupied by AI aircraft. It has not caused problems for me, but I know someone who had to disable that function to regain control of the jetway at which his aircraft was parked.
  • Occasionally I have encountered a stubborn jetway at a default airport that refuses to move, even though I am parked correctly. Sometimes slewing to another gate with a working jetway and then slewing back to the original gate will make it start moving. Sometimes nothing seems to bring the "broken" gate back to life. A little more realism than we'd like, I guess.
  • As I said, the pushback turns work on all aircraft for me, including the CS757. It is important to be patient, however. After starting the pushback with Shift+P and then pressing 1 or 2, it takes 10 - 15 seconds for the turn to begin.
  • I only use the 1 and 2 that appear along the top of the keyboard -- they are much more reliable than the keypad numbers.

I hope something in this list helps someone.  Smiley

Hi guys.

Here is how I found to get the Pushback to work correctly with my Captain Sim aircraft (this works every time for me):

I press the "A" key on the keyboard while in the VC until I have gone through all the cockpit/cabin views back to the VC. After that if I press Shift + P then 1 or 2 and the aircraft will pushback and turn.

This works for me on all my Captain Sim 757s, 767s and C-130s and it is the only way I can get it to work.

Don't thank me for this if it works for you! I found it in a post in the CS forums. The C-130 Xperience forum I think and many thanks to the person who did post this method in the forum.  Cheesy

Didn't know even the pushback was effected by this. I do it standard when I fly CS aircraft, cause I found it solves some problems in the VC too.
I even had aircraft not by CS that needed this to work correctly...
Just loading the 2D panel before switching back to the VC seems to do the trick.
