Now all we need is some painted wingtips for this bird.  AAL has several of these (ETOPS Versions) with blended wings alrady serving the KDFW-PHOG and the KDFW-PHNL routes.

Very nice!

Thanks for the kind comments!
Actually, since the release of v1.1 I have been working on updates that include overwing emergency exits and winglets, but I've run into a problem with the winglets that perhaps some other painters may be able to help me with.
The paint kit for the winglets include four winglet faces, but it looks to me like the model only uses two of those faces. As a result any lettering on the winglets (ie. AA.com) appears correctly when viewed from the right side of the aircraft, but reversed when viewed from the left side of the aircraft (see below).

It may be a bug with the GE model (I haven't tried the PW or RR)?

Look in your user account profile in the support section where you downloaded the update(access with your order number).
When you select the 767 base pack, you will see a selection for Manuals and another for Free Liveries.

I painted the winglets for the GE model for my Air New Zealand repaint and they came out fine.  Are you sure you're painting them correctly?

Thanks for the reply. The problem would not show up on your Air New Zealand repaint because you only have a logo on the winglets. The mirror image problem does not become apparent until you try to place text on them.

I can illustrate what I mean by using your repaint as an example.
I have modified your winglet texture by adding some text as shown. Notice that I have only modified two of the four surfaces.

The result looks fine on one side of the aircraft

But not on the other...

Even though only two faces of the winglet textures have been modified, the edit shows up on all four faces of the model's winglets - two of them in reverse. That's why I think there's a problem with the model and how it is assigning winglet textures.

Hey Dave!

Given that this appears to be a model issue that will be addressed in the next update, can you release the AAL winglet version with the AA.com logo only showing on the outside of each winglet until the fix arrives?

Thanks!

No, because as he illustrated above, one of the outside winglets will still have the logo the wrong way  Sad

Thanks for illustrating the issue Dave.  Smiley

As Carl has indicated, text will always be reversed on one of the two outside surfaces. Until I know how the issue will be addressed, I do not know how to correctly place the text for version 1.3.
I'd better hold off until version 1.3 is released    Sorry Cry

Hi Guys.

Now that V1.3 of the 763 has been released and the winglet texture issue has been resolved,  I have sent my revised American Airlines paint off to Captain Sim. Hopefully it will be available soon.

The main changes in this version include the addition of winglets and overwing emergency exits, as well as a few minor tweaks.
