767 Range  and other info

The 757 is a transatlantic plane -- sorta.  Continental took a hit with a story about a rise in minimum fuel declarations coming back from Europe.  It is a stretch for the 757.  My longest 757 flight is from Boston to Amsterdam.

The 767, on the other hand, is the Mistress of the Atlantic, with more crossings than any other airplane. Unforuntately, the 767-300 does not have significantly greater range than the 757, although enough to matter on translatlantic flights.  To get across the Pacific, you need the Extended Range versions, which would be nice to see.

A quick survey of domestic routes shows that while the 757 is more popular on shorter routes, you can still find many 767 flights under three hours duration for evenings when you just can't make a transatlantic flight.

A real 767 will cost you about 150 million dollars.  And that doesn't count the price of fuel or address the difficulty of getting into your house to play with.

When my family and I go on our annual vacation to Disney World, we always fly out of O'hare.  One time when we flew American Airlines we took a 767-300ER GE  from KORD to KMIA, then took a 757-200 RR from KMIA to KMCO.  Then one time we took Delta and we were on an MD-88  from KORD to KATL, then on a 767-300ER PW from KATL to KMCO.  This 767 flight from Atlanta was only about an hour at most.

Best Regards,

The exterior models all say ER, so I guess this IS the extended range.  That's great.  Now we have a true Pacific-crossing airplane from Captain Sim.

We need some U.S. carriers' liveries, though, guys!  Remember us, big country over there to the west, near Cuba? Wink
