AVSIM Review
Jul 7th, 2009 at 12:02pm
Print Post
Your humble correspondent's first AVSIM Review features the Captain Sim 757 and is now posted.  The executive summary is: great airplane, wished the night lighting was different (may be soon!), speed and altitude constraints are consistently followed for manual entries, but some difficulties with the Navigraph procedures.

If it had been my choice, I would have awarded it the Gold Star 1st Class with Oak Leaf Clusters Smiley  Hope my screen shots and writing do this great product justice.  Thanks to Captain Sim for the assistance in answering my silly questions.  Also thanks to everyone in this forum that helped me smoke out issues and fixes that made the review as thorough as possible.

What's really hurting this fo rme right now is no fuel planner or TOPCAT support.  The rest of the issues I can deal with.

Personnaly, the Fuel Planner is not a problem. I use the Fuel Planner included in Vroute. That combine the Route manager, weather manager, Fuel Manager, and Vatsim information for the flight with some other nice features.

Aircraft is great but the frame rates are poor.

Frame rates are a big that depends.  I get very nice framerates.  Cs 757 is about in the middle of the Petreaus Index, according to him. He said he was revising upward in light if 4.3).  In FSX subjective smoothness is what really counts.  Just depends on your computer and setup.
