Reverse Throttle

Hey all.

Can someone please tell me how to readily select reverse throttles? I don't have a four-engine throttle quadrant, and it's too difficult to use the mouse pointer to pull the four throttles back. Can't see any 'key' for activating this setting, or any instructions in the manuals for assigning a key. It seems that reverse throttle is the only way to stop the aircraft upon landing.

Any clues?

Cheers,
Matthew.

You mean assigning a key or on a 3 lever throttle quadrant?
Reverse throttle is assigning to the F2 key!
You only must keep that key pressed down the hole time to activate reverse throttle!

Arr, that's it! Beauty.Ta for that.

Any thought on how to stop that siren that goes off when you raise the gear?

The siren you hear goes off when there's a possibly dangerous situation.
for example, reducing the throttle below flight idle when the gear is retracted, or lowering the flaps at too high speeds...

To stop the siren, just make sure you don't get in such a situation.

Is there a way to assign the "Reverse Throttle" function to a joystick button?  Thanks.

Yes.  Assign the "Reduce Throttle (Quickly)" button (normally assigned to F2 on keyboard) to whatever joystick button you want to use for reverse thrust.  Then turn the "Repeat" to maximum.  Hold the button until you've achieved the amount of reverse thrust you're looking for.  Make sure your throttle slider is at idle before you do this, or it will pop right back out of reverse.

Ta for the feed back fellas. The siren only goes off when I raise the gear. I'm at full throttle not long after rotating. I can't see what I'm doing wrong.

Cheers,
Matthew.
